Barbara Eden was born Barbara Jean Moorehead on August 23rd, 1934 in Tuscon, Arizona.
Barbara first began appearing on television in the 1950's. (See here filmography below for some of her guest starring
roles.) In 1965, of couse, she began work on I Dream of Jeannie, which ran from 1965-1970. Barbara "Moorehead"
only lived in her birthplace for a short time. She moved to San Francisco, California when her parents got a divorce.
As a child, Barbara performed in many plays. When she was in her teenage years, she began singing in nightclubs,
but she soon found that that wasn't the life she wanted to persue. So, her next move was to Hollywood. In
Hollywood, she got a part as a regular on The Johnny Carson Show, and she guest starred on a few classic 50's
shows, including an episode of I Love Lucy in 1957. (See the bottom of this page for more of her guest
appearences). In 1958, Barbara married Michale Ansara. The mewly weds then moved to a ranch in Sherman Oaks.
In 1965, Barbara became pregnant with her first son, Matthew. Also that year, "I Dream of Jeannie" began filming.
They had to film quickly, so Barbara wouldnt have to take off time in the middle of the season. When 1970 came and
"I Dream of Jeannie" shot it's last blink, things didn't go well for Barbara. In 1971, she lost her baby after seven
months of pregnancy. After that, Barbara acted every chance she got. That same year, Ansara and her broke up and
got a divorce in 1972. In 1974, Barbara Eden almost had her own television show again, "The Barbara Eden Show"
In the show, Barbara was to play a toy designer, but the networks wouldn't buy it. In the late seventies, Barbara
Eden married Chicago news reporter, Charles Fegert, but he and Eden got a divorce in 1982. Next, Barbara met
plastic surgeon, Stanley Frileck. In 1985, Eden filmed the sequal to "I Dream of Jeannie", along with Wayne Roger,
Bill Daily, and Hayden Rorke. The main difference this time? The different Tony you say? That's one thing, but
there was something else. Eden could show her navel. Since then, Barbara Eden has still made many television and
movie appearences, including I Still Dream of Jeannie in 1991, and she is scheduled to appear in the 1998 "I Dream
of Jeannie" movie as an evil aunt.
