In the cold of winter a group of porcupines huddled together for shelter from the bitter cold. There was a problem because every time they tried to get close to each other they poked one another with their sharp quills. Finally several of the porcupines grew frustrated and muttering something about finally being able to sleep they wandered off into the cold alone. The others toughed it out. In the morning the ones who had stayed together were warm and the ones who had gone off alone were nearly frozen from the bitter cold.
The lesson of this story is that even though it is not always easy to love people we should develop close relationships and maintain them to the people we hold ver dear to our hearts. For it is better to love and endure the hurt that is sometimes involved then to wander off into the cold and be alone and freezing inside.
