FEES AND CHARGES
Fee Schedule


The Senior Commission fee schedule is prepared each year and is available from the Commission office. Annual fees are based on institutional enrollment, in addition, fees and expenses are charged for the following activities:


Eligibility Application


Fees are charged for the first application, reapplication, and for appeal of eligibility determinations. See fee schedule.


Candidacy Applications


After an institution has been determined to be eligible, it is required to file a Candidacy fee within 90 days after Eligibility has been granted. This fee covers some on-site consultation, staff conferences as needed, and advice on preparation for a self study and team visit for Candidacy. If Candidacy is denied, a separate Candidacy fee is payable in the event of reapplication. See fee schedule for amount.


Initial Accreditation Applications


An Initial Accreditation fee is payable within 90 days after the initial Accreditation visit has been scheduled, usually after notification by the Commission that Candidacy has been extended subsequent to a Candidacy Extension visit. See fee schedule.


Generalist Expenses


An institution wishing a generalist to accompany a team from a specialized accrediting agency will pay the generalist's expenses.


Evaluation Visits


The institution is billed for the expenses of the visiting team, including the cost of the chair's preliminary visit and subsequent appearance before the Cornmission. The expenses of visits made by the Commission for the purpose of inquiry also will be paid by the institution.

In addition, the Commission has established an administrative fee for visits. The administrative charges are: $450 for special visits (e.g., Special, Candidacy Extension, or Fourth-year visits); $800 for comprehensive visits (e. g., Candidacy, Initial Accreditation or Reaffirmation of Accreditation visits); and $1,500 for multi-visit evaluations.


Special Charges


Additional charges may be assessed for unusually complex evaluations, which require staff time beyond that normally expended. These include visits to out-of-region programs and to institutions requiring unusually large teams in relation to the size of the institution. In such cases, the Commission will charge an additional flat fee.


Substantive Change


A substantive change fee of $500 must accompany each substantive change proposal submitted to the Commission office. From time to time, the Substantive Change Committee finds that it must request additional information from the applicant institution and place the item on the agenda of a subsequent meeting. In such circumstances a $150 report fee will be charged to the institution.


Commission Review of a Negative Action


When an institution requests a Commission Review, there will be a $2,5OO processing fee and a deposit of $3,O00 against costs. If the actual costs are less than $3,000, the excess will be refunded. lf it is greater, the institution will be billed for the difference

All fees are due and payable upon presentation of an invoice from the Commission Office.
