My Dad
My dad, Jacob Earl Diehm, (just Jake!) was born July 20th, 1954, in Grinnell, Iowa. He came from a family of 11 kids and I've heard so many interesting stories about their childhoods. He worked for VanWyk in Grinnell and was constantly doing work on our property. He built and added to so many things around our house, and I've always considered him a workaholic. On Friday, December 2nd of 1994, my dad was working at home, when the tractor he was on tipped over, pinning him under, and taking his life. Although it's been seven years, obviously the pain is still there, but I learned a lot from his life and from his death. I still dream of him and I know we'll all be together again.

My mom, Lorna Lee Pollock, was born October 23rd, 1952, in Brooklyn, Iowa. She married my dad on August 24th, 1974. She is now remarried to Michael Pollock and has been for four years. She works at Iowa Telecom. When she has free time, she enjoys spending time with Michael, us kids, and all of our pets. She was our 4-H leader for about 10 years and still participates in County Fair Board (she's President) and she loves judging projects at different 4-H county fairs in the area. If there's one thing I've learned about her, it's that she's one of the strongest ladies in the world and I respect her and love her very much.
Michael
My mom's husband, Michael Paul Pollock, was born March 2nd. My mom and he originally met on America Online (AOL), when he was living in Phoenix, Arizona. He moved to Grinnell and they were married December 29th, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael works for Contract Transport. He has his private pilot's license and loves to go flying. He also likes golfing, fishing, and takes interest in magic and history, especially the Civil War.
Jeremy
Michael's son, Jeremy Pollock was born September 18th, 1982. He's 19 and lives with him uncle in Cedar Rapids. Jeremy likes sports, especially basketball and football, and he also likes video games.
Brandi, Ben, and Brent
My sister, Brandi Leale Diehm was born September 14th, 1977. She's 24 and is a graduate of UNI. She now works for Kinko's in Cedar Rapids, as Assistant Manager. Brandi is married and lives with her husband, Ben, and their kitten, Jinkies, in an apartment in Marion. She speaks Russian and has been to Russia 3 times. She also likes cross-stitching and playing on the computer.
Ben
My sister's husband, Benjamin James Van Meter, is 24 and from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They met in band their freshman year at UNI. Ben likes art and computers and his family has participated in RAGBRAI for years.
