Welcome to Our House

The Chinese calendar said that 2004 was the year of the Monkey. For us 2004 was year of Many Changes, Waiting and Uncertainty.
I've tried to pictorially capture just "some" of the events that have happened to us this year in this website.
The kids and even our dogs have their own links below. Please take some time to visit them. Please be patient as some of the pictures and animated graphics download, as those who have an older computer will find that they will take some time. But it's "definitely" worth the wait!

Delbert lost his job at Oxford Automotive May 28th when the plant he worked for 17 years closed down. But Delbert tried to keep himself busy through the summer doing house renovations. This was not by choice that this work needed to be done, but due to an electrical fire we had Christmas Eve 2003.

There was MANY house renovations done this year, so I've put up some of the pictures on a seperate page. ~ Click Here ~.

Delbert worked for a few weeks at the canners in town here, until he found full time employment at the Stirling plant in St. Thomas on September 13th. It’s quite a drive for him, but he works the weekends 3pm-3am, so he has 4 days off and only has to drive 3 days. Delbert also found time to truck grain for my father and brother, and logged the bush for firewood. We had to buy a new-to-us mini van so that Delbert could make the drive back & forth to work.

We cashed in Delbert’s severance pay and purchased a ‘97 Ford Windstar GX in September and the radio works! (the only stipulation that Lacey told us it had to have ☺). The van came with very low kms (98kms), cruise, air, auto windows and doors. There was enough of the severance pay left over that we had the truck’s motor rebuilt. In August, we visited Delbert’s brother Ernie for a weekend, and on the way home we noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust. We found out that the motor’s head gasket went and it had burnt valves.

In July we went to Family Camp at Maple Grove Christian Retreat Center.
Part of my volunteer work is to designed & update the site for Maple Grove. I also am the editor of Maple Grove's daily newsletter during Family Camp, called "The Crier".
