Echowoods is very proud of our first homebred champion and of his exciting wins! Gage's showmanship puts us in mind of a Saddlebred stallion. His conformation is almost flawless with one of the best moving rears we have ever seen and a flawless front to go with it. Judges who appreciate the way an akita should look and move have rewarded him with multiple BOB's and several Group placements..all this in ONLY a handful of shows just after he turned a year old. What was so exciting for us is that Gage has won BOB over our nations top ranked akitas and he was just a youngster, this just doesn't happen very often. Beginning from the 6-9 puppy class and his very first show, he was owner handled all the way by Brenda Dotray and took WD,BOW,BOB & a GROUP 3. His 2nd weekend out Gage took yet another BOB over Specials for a 4 pt major! At 10 months Gage also took Best In Sweeps at his first Regional Speciality in Minnesota! We were over the top when Gage finished his American championship in an explosive way by taking BOB 3 out of 4 days at the prestigious Chicago International shows. The first day he took a 5pt major when he won BOB over top specials and even though a young boy in the ring, he wowed us again by taking a huge Group 4 along side of our nations top specials! To prove it was more than luck, Gage followed up this win with two more days of back to back BOB's! Update: 2002 - Gage has taken several group placements with very limited showing and has also finished his International championship. Gage will not live his life on the road as a special but instead live at home with Brenda in MN. He has more than proven himself to us :) 2/28/05-Gage has sired several litters now and has exceeded our expectations! He is throwing incredible bone, small thick forward cupped ears, beautiful head type, wonderful temperaments, sound structure and clean movement. His offspring (check out CH Cajun)are finishing their championships with ease and have included multi-group wins as well! We are very proud of this beautiful Akita and his owner Brenda Dotray.

Gage's half sister "Ivory" (co-owned with Brenda Dotray) is making her presence known as well, finishing both her American and International championships in just a few shows! Not bad for a white akita :) Check her out!
