Arcanea
Arcanea is the home of the mystics, who dominated the world 10000 years ago, when the Dark Realm was in power, and ruled with an iron fist. The figureheads of the Dark Realm were King Darcy and Queen Duvessa, both merciless souls that enjoyed wreaking havoc on the general populace. Their power was unrivalled, until six beings from the Realm of Light banded together, and with their combined power focused, managed to equal that of Darcy and Duvessa, whose arrogance became their downfall. The two were killed for their tyranny, while Darcy's younger brother took the throne, though the Dark Realm was considerably less powerful woth the original King and Queen gone. The six from the Realm of Light vowed that they could never again allow the Dark Realm to achieve such power and formed the Guardians' Guild.
When a mystic of great power and importance dies, their soul and powers are kept intact, and they are eventually re-incarnated into another body. The person that recieves the life force takes on their powers, and very much of their appearance. They are also given the responsibility that the powerful being held (ie.Guardian or Dark Prince/King) Mystics of importance can be identified by the symbolic markings on their faces.
