I was surfing the internet the other day, and on a webpage came across a guestbook. The page was on American Sign Language- ASL- and the guestbook was full of people who loved the fact that they were able to learn sign via the net. Truthfully, there are lots of sites out there which teach sign language, and plenty more on deafness and hard of hearing. I just thought I should add to them. No, really the thought that went through my mind was that there are very few sites out there that actually focus on the structure and grammatics of ASL. So really I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could create a page which focused on the structure?
![]() Navigating this site should be fairly easy. All you need to do is click on the links to the left. Each link is fairly explanatory, with the theme of "basic" in each. This is the best thing to remember. All this site is, and ever will be, is a basic guide to American Sign Language structure. The easiest and best thing to do, in order to learn ASL correctly, is to take a class on it. That cannot be expressed enough. When you're in a class, you can see and interact with other people who are signing, and hands-on helps the most in learning anything. To take a class, check colleges and universities in your area. If you're still in high school, you can put in a request to implement a sign language class in your school. All right! Now's the time to get going on to Lesson #1- A Basic History. ![]() Please enjoy the new look!Spam has taken over my e-mail account. Due to this, please include the title ASLWEB in your subject line.
