I would like to say a special thanks to "Time Lady" Lea
Hays for finding some cool quotes.
These are some of my favorite quotes from the Whoniverse.
I have avoided the usual ones, i.e. the First Doctor's
goodbye to Susan and the Seventh Doctor's monologue to Ace,
and have gotten some of the lesser known quotes. These are
the ones that are as good as any but just haven't recieved
the wide spread attention they should.
"They say the first sign of madness is talking to oneself."
"Shoot at anything that moves. If it doesn't move, shoot at it until it
does."
"I know that free movement in time and space is a scientific dream I
don't expect to find solved in a junkyard."
"So, free will is not an illusion after all."
"Of course we should interfere! Always do what you're good at!"
"There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most
terrible things. Things that fight against everything we believe in. They
must be fought."
"It's my fantasy. I can rearrange the universe if I want to!"
"Planets come and go, stars perish, matter disperses, coalesces,
forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal."
"I don't believe that man was made to be controlled by machines.
Machines can make laws but they can not preserve justice.
"We shall play endless games together...your brain against mine."
"One good solid hope is worth a cartload of certainties."
"The nature of man even in this day and age hasn't altered at all. You
still fear the unknown like everyone else before you."
"With proof, you don't need to believe."
"People spend all thier time making nice things and then other people
come along and break them."
And the half time score: Perivale six hundred million; Rest of the
Universe, nil."
"A man is the sum of his memories, you know? A Time Lord even
more so."
"I stowed his remains carefully for the trip home because, even in
death, I didn't trust him."
"Logic, dear Zoe, merely enables one to be wrong with authority."
"I can hear the sound of empires toppling."
"Our lives are important - at least to us - and as we see, so we
learn... Our destiny is in the stars, so let's go and search for it."
"Overweight, underpowered museum piece... Might as well try and fly a second-hand gas stove."
"If we fight like animals we die like animals."
"It can do many things, Lesterson. But the thing it does most
efficiently is exterminate human beings."
"Courage isn't just a matter of not being afraid. It's being afraid and
doing what you have to do anyway."
"Circular logic will only make you dizzy, Doctor."
"It's an emergency program. In the case of an impending collision
the TARDIS automatically dematerializes on the nearest stable
position in time and space." - 5th Doctor
"One day we'll know all the mysteries of the skies and we will stop
our wanderings."
"You know, I don't think these cows know anything about the time
scanner."
"Sometimes I travel so fast I don't exist."
"The Doctor's almost as clever as I am."
"For someone so small, you take up lots of space."
"Only a fool argues with his Doctor."
"The centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"It's always the innocent bystanders who suffer."
"There's nothing ONLY about being a girl."
"You can't rule the world in hiding. You've got to come out onto the
balcony sometime and wave a tentacle."
"And now they've all gone...none of them could understand. Not
even my little Susan, or Vicki...and as for Barbara and
Chatterton ... Chesterton ... they were all to impatient to get to thier
own time. Perhaps I should go home, back to my own planet... But
I can't..."
