Sir Archibald Douglas 8th Laird of Mains
    Son and Heir of Alexander, his father, became Laird in the Barony of Mains. Married by contract to Isobel Elphinstone, daughter of Sir George Elphinstone of Blythswood.
    Later, through unfortuntae circumstances, was forced to convey his estate to his uncle, Robert Douglas, Viscount Belhaven.
His parents were not married.
