Spencer-Majeed, Ltd. was founded in September of 1993 as a Public Relations/Marketing firm.  The founder D. Hadayai S. Majeed had a dream to be in business and to be able to work from her home or small office. 


The company specializes in taking projects that most other companies do not.  Our clientel is comprised of new businesses with low capital start up, homebusiness people (some craft people), first time authors and women who want to market their goods and services to the world.

The company works with some of the best graphic designers, editors and marketers in the nation.  Many of these terrific people work from their homes and produce top quality work. This helps our company keep our prices at least 30% below the competition and guarantee top quality.  

In 1995 the founder of the company decided to write her first book titled Emerging Victorious:  A dialogue on Polygamy/ Polygyny in America.  After doing three years of research and living through a trying experience as a co-wife in a polygymous marriage, she published the book in 1997.  

The first publishing she did herself (using a local Kinko's Printing location) and successfully sold 100 copies.  She then was sent a promotional kit from a well known self-publisher and decided to get her copyright and ISBN number and sell to independent bookstores.  Her husband Abdul H. Abdullah, a local merchant in the Atlanta area, helped her sell the next publishing from his van.  


During this time she inquired about how to get books listed with Barnes and Noble.  She was told to send her book in for review.  The book was turned down for the stores, but accepted for online listing with BN.com.

Now her company has a mutually benefiting relationship with BN.com, and can list up to 25 books at a time.  Her company offers other authors listing with her company, and can guarantee to get an author listed within two weeks (it usually takes six to eight weeks), if you are accepted.
