Summary: When Scully receives information about her daughter Emily, it
takes her a Mulder on a trip they'll never forget.
Disclaim: Mulder and Scully aren't mine. They belong to CC, 1013, and
20th Century Fox.

	She was hesitating. The man told her not to bring Mulder along
but she strongly felt that she should. With out retaining her next
thought, she picked up the phone and dialed his number. The phone rang
in Mulder's apartment and Scully was getting worried because it usually
never took him this long to answer the phone. When she felt his voice
in the receiver, she felt her spirit re-enter her body.
	"Mulder." He answered. Scully remained silent for a second.
	"Uh...Mulder, it's me." She forwarded in the phone. She sat
down and brushed her hair back.
	"Oh hi Scully, what's up?"
	"Uh, nothing really."
	"Something must be wrong. You're stumbling when you talk."
Replied Mulder as he finished fixing his tie. He straightened it out
with his left hand and the phone on his shoulder.
	"Actually, yes. Uh, Mulder, I uh...got this call tonight. A
really weird call," she explained until Mulder cut her off.
	"Scully if it's about the case, I really do believe that
George Setinour has the power to murder prostitutes from his jail
cell."
	"No, no, it's not about the case. Actually it's far off from
that. It's about Emily." Automatically, Mulder stopped what he was
doing.
	"What about Emily, Scully?" Scully sat there in silence still
wondering if she should tell him anything at all, but it was too late
now.
	"Scully? Are you there?" she snapped out of her trance
automatically with the sound of his voice.
	"Uh, yeah?"
	"Scully, what about Emily?"
	"Mulder, I got this call from a man...and he said that...he
knows where Emily is." Mulder made a face on the other side of the
phone as he went for his jacket.
	"What does he mean he knows where Emily is?"
	"I don't know Mulder, he just said to meet him at the Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier. But it gave me a strange feeling inside because..."
she sighed "He said that if I don't show up, I might lose the chance of
recovering her again."
	"Scully, Emily's dead. That was probably just a prank call that
someone planned knowing that they were going to hurt you." He said in
a soothing and almost convincing voice. Scully sighed again in the
phone.
	"If you decided to go anyway, I couldn't go with you."
	"Why not?"
	"I have a date tonight. Nothing big. Just this girl I met on
the Internet."
	"Oh." Scully's fury was boiling inside but she somehow managed
to keep it from cracking her voice. "You can't come with me even if you
wanted Mulder. The man said that if I come with you, that I can forget
about Emily and her supposed whereabouts." Scully heard a light knock
in the background on the other side of the phone.
	"Hey Scully, I gotta go. Please, if you decide you're gonna go,
gimme a ring, okay?"
	"Yeah. Good luck."
	"Thanks. Bye."
	"Bye." She clicked off on the phone. She knew she had said good
luck without meaning it, but she let it bypass her. She sat alone in
the silence for a few minutes until she stood up, grabbed her coat, and
exited the door, forgetting to contact Mulder.

	The man told her to be there promptly at 8:30. He still had not
arrived and Scully was sitting in the red Buick, impatiently waiting.
Finally, she saw a slim black car pull up by the corner. It shut off it's
headlights and the door slowly opened to reveal a tall, slim man in a
long overcoat. Scully exited her car when she noticed the man procedding
toward her.
	"Agent Scully. So very glad to see you again." Said the man as
he stepped into the clarity of the memorials' lights. Scully automaticly
recognized him.
	"Maybe Mulder was right. Maybe this is just a prank call. What
gives, Krycek?" replied Scully. The man looked her straight in the eye.
	"You didn't dare to bring him right?" questioned the man
---Krycek--- as he took another step closer to Scully.
	"No. I didn't."
	"Very well then." Krycek reached into his coat and extracted a
piece of paper. He looked at it one last time and handed it to Scully.
	"What is this?" she asked as she reviewed the paper. She looked
up at Krycek once again and looked at him as if expecting an answer.
	"These are the coordinantes to the location where you're
daughter is, Agent Scully. If you want to rescue her, you have 96 hours
to get there." Scully stared at him in what seemed to be anger and
confusion.
	"Is she alive?" Scully asked in awe. Krycek just stared and
said:
	"She'll be out of you're reach in 96 hours."
	"What do you mean?"
	"Just get there if she really matters to you." He
replied without a hint of expression. They stared at each
other for a long time as gray clouds began to form in the sky.
	"Why are you doing this?" Qusetioned Scully.
	"It's not in my best intrests to mislead you in the whereabouts
of Emily. This maybe you're last chance to recover her. If you don't
you'll never be able to live with yourself. And Agent Mulder will hate
you forever."
	"Why do you say that?"
	"You'll find out when the time comes. Get there Agent." With
that he turned around and escorted him self to his car as he left Scully
under the now raining sky.

	She'd been looking at that paper all night long and thinking
what she should do about this angst that was filling her inside. She
paced along her apartment for hours and now she was suffering from
insomnia. She got up form bed and dialed Mulder's number. Ring. She
hoped he was back from his...date. Ring. How long does he keep a girl
out anyway? Ring. Would he ever...
	"Mulder."
	"Hi Mulder, it's me. Did I wake you?"
	"No, no. I was still awake. Is anything wrong? Did you meet
with that guy about Emily?" Scully let out a huge sigh before repling:
	"Yeah, and guess who was our guy."
	"Who?"
	"Yours truly, Alex Krycek."
	"What?" screamed Mulder across the phone line. "That..." he
continued but paused.
	"I know, I know. I was thinking the same thing, but..." she
stopped. "He gave me these coordinates that supposedly lead to Emily.
He said I only have 96 hours, in other words 4 days, to rescue her."
Explained Scully.
	"Rescue her from what?"
	"I don't know. But something tells me that it's not good."
	"Women's intuition?" he joked.
	"Yeah, something like that." She responded. There was a moment
of silence between the two until Scully broke the ice.
	"So? What do you have to say Mulder?" Mulder answered in that
soft soothing voice:
	"Are you going to go?"
	"Excuse me?"
	"Are you going to go find her?" Scully stood up from where she
was sitting.
	"Well, yeah." She said.
	"Then I'll go with you. I'll be there when you find
her." There was an aparent smile on Scully's face.
	"Thank you...Mulder." She removed the phone from her ear and
turned off the phone without letting the smile wash away.

	Frohike groggily walked towards the door with his hair baffled,
no washed face, nothing. He gave life to the security TV that led to
the view of the camera outside the doorway. In black in white were
pictured Scully and a half asleep Mulder behind her.
	"It's me Frohike." Reminded Scully. Frohike began to unlock the
door one lock after the other. The door swung open and in went Scully
dragging Mulder behind her.
	"Well it's nice to rise and shine to the lovely Agent Scully at
my door." Joked Frohike. Scully threw him the half smile she always
does when he flirts with her.
	"Frohike, I need your help." Began Scully.
	"I need you to identify these coordinates and tell me the
exact location of where those coordinates lead to."
	"Fine. When do you want it?"
	"Right now."
	"...Okay." Replied Frohike. He turned on his computer systems.
There was such a loud beep rising from the machines that it was enough
to wake Mulder up.
	"May I ask what this is for, Agent Scully?" asked Frohike.
	"Yes. Um...I met with this man,"
	"Krycek." Blurted Mulder, finally awake.
	"Yes," she sighed but continued, "And he gave me these
coordinates to get to in four days."
	"Why in four days."
	"Because if she dosen't, she'll supposedly lose Emily."
Answered Mulder.
	"Emily, I thought she was..."
	"We know but her woman's intuition won't let her live."
	"Well in that case, let's get this show on the road, shall we?"
hurried Frohike. He logged in some passwords and typed in a few codes
while Mulder asked him where Byers and Langly were.
	"Refined Boy and Woodstock wanna-be are still sleeping." Scully
managed a chuckle at the joke.
	"Here we go." Said Frohike as he typed in the last code. He hit
enter and the screen began prcessing his request. It took a few minutes
and they waited between coffee. They saw Langly rise and shine. He
picked up a cup of coffee and made his way over to the computer which
was processing the data.
	"Paris, France." Said Langly reading off the computer screen.
	"What?"
	"Paris, France." he repeated.
	"That's what the search came out to be? Paris?" questioned a
surprised Scully.
	"Yep." Answered Langly. With that Frohike turned off the
computer and walked back to the table.
	"Did you get it?" asked Mulder.
	"Yep. Congratulations! You've both won a trip for two to
Paris, France." Joked Langly
	"Paris?" repeated Scully, still in amazement. Mulder pulled
out his cell phone and dialed a number.
	"What are you doing?"asked Scully.
	"I'm booking us the next flight to France."

	That same morning, they left the Lone Gunmen Headquarters, went
their separate ways and packed some things. They met at the airport
later on.
	"Flight 756 with destination to Paris, France please enter
through Gate 8." Spoke the flight attendant over the speaker. They
picked up their handbags and went on in. Once inside the airplane, all
the French attendants came and greeted them and other people, or simply
said, 'I hope you and the Mrs. Have a nice trip!' with a French accent.
They were about an hour into the flight when Mulder fell asleep leaning against
the window.
~~~~~~
	Mulder awoke about three hours later to find Scully reading. As
soon as he came alive with motion, Scully's eyes bouced off the page.
	"Ohh, you're up." She implied. Mulder made moves to strech and
get back into position.
	"You've been in a bad position for a long time."
	"Yeah. My back hurts." He finally said. He moaned once or twice
as he continued streching. He sat back into position and fastened his
seat belt. Soon enough came the time to arrive at the Charles De Gaule
airport in Paris. The airplane announcer's voice filled the gap in the
air. First speaking in French, later in Spanish, finally recognizable speaking,
she repeated information in English:
"Attention Passangers: We're moments away from arriving at the
Charles De Gaule International Airport in Paris, France. Please fasten
your seat belts if you haven't done so already." Scully sighed and leaned
back as she lived her last moment of peace in a long time.
	"You okay, Scully?" asked a concerned Mulder.
	"Yeah, I'm just...thinking where to start. I mean, I don't know
the specific address of this place and to be honest I really don't feel
like having a hard time with this." She replied. She closed her eyes
and rubbed them slightly. Mulder just keep looking at her.
	"Don't worry. We won't leave until we find Emily. I promise."
	"But what if she's not here? What if this is all a joke?"
	Mulder remained silent, not knowing what to say. It wasnen't
everyday that you were informed your deceased child possibly hasen't
been near a cemetary. He saw Scully close her eyes in frustration.
	"We'll blame it on your women's intuition and hunt down Krycek."
he said, trying to at least make her smile. Scully opened her eyes
and their eyes catched. She placed her hand on top of his.
	"Thanks, Mulder. You  don't know how much this means to me."
	"Yeah, I do. Cause I feel the same way. I kind of grew close to
Emily in the few days that I knew her, a fatherly care, you know?"
Scully just stared at him.
	"You know, you would make a great father someday."
	"Maybe I would but first I have to find Mrs. Spooky." He joked.
Scully did smile at this remark. The airplane tilted forward which broke
their trance.
	"Ladies and Gentelmen we are now arriving at the Charles De
Gaule International Airport." Spoke the flight attendant.
	"You'll find her someday." Implied Scully, her eyes wandered
off. When they reached the airport, they opened the upper
cabins and picked up their handbags. They made their way down the
corridor of the airplane ramp, into the world once again.
	After arriving and sliding through imigration and picked up the
rest of their belongings. Mulder hitchhiked a taxi for them. They had
some trouble considering the taxi driver only spoke French. Once they
got to the hotel and settled in, Mulder was finishing to unpack when
there was a knock on the door. He stood up to answer it.
	"Hey Scully. Do you know that in France they have more than 50
special channels?" he said cheerfully.
	A sigh and a smile gave him the response he looked for.
	"Did you find anything?"
	"Yeah. There are about 15 centers for children's special care
such as the one Emily needs." Explained Scully.
	"When do you wanna start?" asked Mulder.
	"Today. We only have three days left." Scully burried her head
in her hands as Mulder leaned down to console her.
	"It's okay. It's okay. Gimme the list, I'll order a cab and
we'll start looking, okay?"  They laid there in silence. A few minutes
later, they were stopping a taxi.
	Searching special centers in Paris was easier than
they thought. The city wasen't as big as they imagined, but the
trouble they had finding English speakers slowed down their pace.
They finally arrived at the last one.
	"This is the last one." Mulder informed. "Do you think it's worth
going in or you wanna call it quits for today?"  Scully looked at Mulder
with a tired yet desperate face.
	"Let's go in just in case." They stepped out of the car and walked
side by side toward the special care center. Atop the door way there was
a large sign which expressed the name of the center, St. Miguel: Centre
par Atention Special du Enfantil (St. Miguel: Center for Special Attention for
Children). They entered the center and came to a desk with a male guard.
	"Excuse me."  Introduced Scully. "Do you speak english?" she
questioned. The man responded right away.
	"Yes. How may I help you?" replied the guard, without a hint of
a French accent, something Mulder noticed. They both reached into their
pockets.
	"Hello. We're Agents Mulder and Scully with the Federal Bureau
of Investigation in the United States. We'd like to ask you some
questions." She said as she and Mulder flashed their badges.
	"Yes?"
	"We are looking for a 4 year old girl named Emily Sim. We'd
like to know if she was here." Asked Scully. The man typed in some
things in the computer's keyboard.
	"No. I'm sorry. We have no Emily Sim. Sorry Ma'am."
	"Are you sure?" pressured Mulder. The man looked up at him with
intentional eyes.
	"I said we don't have an Emily Sim, sir. Anything else I can
help you with?" Scully was staring off into nowhere, while Mulder knew
what was happening to her.
	"Thank you." He replied and with that he and Scully walked out
of the building.
	"I cannot belive this. We have been to every place in Paris
and we still can't find her." complained Scully. "Maybe Krycek did lie to
us. Maybe she's not really here." suggested Scully. She kept looking
downward.
	"Listen, I'm sorry Scully."  Spoke Mulder alas.
	"No don't be sorry, Mulder. That's it. He lied lied to us."
said a convinced Scully.
	"No, Scully." Replied Mulder, doubtfully. "I think Krycek
didn't lie to us for once. I think it was that guard who lied to us."
	"What?"
	"Yeah. No one we met at the other centers gave us
clear cut information. They even looked through the center
with us. Listen, tommorrow we're going to come back here
and look for her no matter what. We'll find her Scully."
	"But the man just told us she wasen't here." She insisted.
	"She's here Scully. I know it." With that they walked off back
to the taxi cab that was left to wait for them. On the inside of the
building, the guard watched them go after watching them argue for a
couple of minutes. He picked up the phone and dialed a number.
	"Sir, they were here...Yes...they just left...yes, sir." He
whispered into the phone. He hung it up and smirked all the way he
could. He saw the taxi drive away, and an ear-to-ear smile appeared on
his face.
	When they arrived at the hotel, they separated into their own
rooms. They didn't call each other at all in that time frame, each busy
with their own belongings. Mulder started thinking that him and Scully
hadn't had anyhing to eat then. He put on a pair of jeans on top of the boxers
he had and his gray T-shirt on top. He exited his hotel room and walked
towards Scully's. He reached it finally and knocked on the metal door.
He knocked a couple of times before he felt Scully's feet actually
moving towards the door. When she opened the door, he found her with a
red nose and red eyes, all swollen.
	"Scully, you've been crying haven't you?" She kept walking inside
and ignored his question.
	"Dana..." he said to finally get her attention. "Answer me.
Talk to me. You've been crying haven't you?" he questioned. She turned
around at the sound of her first name being spoken by Mulder's lips.
	"I can't help it, Mulder. I can't help it! I'm under...this incredible
amount of pressure!" She yelled as she paced across the room.
	"Scully calm down."
	"I can't! I'm worried. I don't want to lose her again. It's not
fair!" She sat on the edge of her bed, tears streaming down her face.
	"I may not know what you're feeling, but what I do know is that
I don't like to see you like this." He kneeled in front of her and
cupped her chin with his right hand.
	"Scully, I love you and all I know is that I don't want to see
you suffer." He pulled her head close and embraced her in his chest.
She kept crying very near him and then they separated. They're eyes met
just like they did on the airplane.
	"What?" she whispered bettween their tears.
	"I said I love you. And I do Scully...and I want
you to know that wheather you find Emily or not you'll always...you'll always
have me."  Without knowing it, they were holding hands now and as Scully
reviewed her thoughts, she just felt it was the right moment to say it.
	  One more tear escaped the corner of her eye and Mulder dryed
it away.  The silence said it all for them as they sat in that
hotel room. He knew
she loved him, and now all that mattered was finding Emily.
