| Remember When?
By Cecil Hall First published in the Saguache Crescent 7 October 1999 - #133 In last week’s story about the reunion of myself and six cousins, somehow inadvertently Evva Jean Morgan was listed as the daughter instead of the niece of Dorothy Burch. (Dorothy will be glad to hear that she doesn’t suddenly have a daughter). Autumn in Colo. — I can’t think of anything greater! Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. I suppose there are several reasons I feel this way. First of all it means that the pesky mosquitoes and horse flies are not going to be around for a few months. Probably my main reason for being a Fall guy is ‘cause it means that big game season is right around the corner. When my brother and I were about 10 and 13 years old we started going to hunting camp with our Dad. I guess it gets in your blood, ‘cause hunting season is still the highlight of activities in my life. However, now there is a big change — I am the granddad, Sid is the Dad, and Tom and Will are the boys who we take hunting. When a fellow completely runs out of topics to write about and ends up talking about the weather, I think it is a good time to call it quits. So unless I find that Johnnie O’Neil, John Lawrence or some of the other olde boys have been up to some mischief, this Is probably a good time to say Adios! It has been fun to “Remember When.” - Cecil |
