Tell me why a baseball is a symbol for energetic? I need to talk to these emoticon people...
Anyway... Hallelujah! Hallelujah! She's posting! She's posting! Posting to her blog!!
I know it's been a while, but I've been outrageously busy lately. I haven't slept in my own apartment for a week and over the last three weeks I've driven over 1,500 miles. Yay. Envy my life.
So I thought it was about time to check in and post some recent happenings.
First, as you probably noticed from the main page, I WAS PUBLISHED! My article appeared in the Harrisburg Patriot-News on the 30th. It was on page A15 (in the front section!) and included my picture and everything. It was very cool.
Second, I finished "Hour Follows Hour," my latest STFBE fic. I had a deadline of the 30th (a lot happened that day) so I could submit it for the fall Stickies. Wish me luck! I think nominations run through November.
In other news, my sister has survived hurricanes Ivan, Jeanne, Charley, Frances, Alberto, Bucky, Guido, and the Bush/Kerry debate which had about one/one-millionth of the energy of a hurricane. Can someone get these guys some caffeine? Please?
My brother-in-law sent me this great email:
"The papers are all speculating as to how this will disrupt the elections because many areas still have no power, 1 in 4 homes are damaged and many polling places are condemned. About 10% of the population is displaced or unable to return to their homes, which includes the election officials and local government employees. So! interesting. This battle ground state finds its self poised to be a focal point in the hotly (really hot) contested arena of popular political whims. Remember the motto of Florida (the plywood state) "we may not be ahead but we sure are behind". However, we are all relieved by FEMA's announcement that they will be placing tarps on everyone's roof who needs one (2,250,000 so far) as soon as they can find some."
What can I say? Comedic genius runs in the family.
In other good news, the season premiere of Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye hits the air waves tonight. I recommend tuning in at 9:00 pm on PAX. If you don't get PAX, call your local cable provider and tell them "I want the channel with two reputable television shows!" (The other being Doc, which features Billy Ray Cyrus sans mullet.)
That's it for now folks. I'm off to Target (rhymes with "Parkay") to buy art supplies. Yep, me buying art supplies. The girl who can't draw a straight line with a ruler. But it's okay, my professor says stick figures are acceptable. Whew.
Toodle-oo!!!
