PowerBuilder - PFC - Color Service

Object Requirements :

The PFC Color Service was actually started in PFC 6, but it can easily be incorporated into PFC 5

Objects to Copy (from PB 6 to PB 5):

Copy pfc_n_base (pfcmain.pbl) to the pfcmain.pbl.
Copy n_base (pfemain.pbl) to the pfemain.pbl
Copy pfc_n_cst_color (pfcapsrv.pbl) to the pfcapsrv.pbl
Copy n_cst_color (pfeapsrv.pbl) to the pfeapsrv.pbl

The "color" NVOs are inherited from the"n_base" NVOs (thus they needed to be included in the copying process). PFC 6 changed in that all the NVOs are inherited from this base class unlike PFC 5 in which few of the NVOs are inherited from a true base class other than nonvisualobject.

Implementation Notes

To use the object simply reference one of the colors on the AUTOINSTANTIED NVO.

For example,

: st_first_name.BackColor = n_cst_color.BUTTONFACE

Advantages :

Code is easier to read (versus st_first_name.BackColor = RGB(123,1,1))
Color changes can be made in a single location
Common colors are also defined, such as red, black, ...
