Hamster Home - Training and Obedience

Ok, Here's where I tell you about your hamsters obedience and how you can train them. Your probaly thinking, who in the world would train a hamster? What good would it do? Well as a matter of fact,it does a lot of good. Here are some things you need to know about obedience..

1.Biting
2.Running away from you
3.Not eating
4.Wont sleep
5.Chews up everything

Here's how to train your hamsters not to do any of the past things...

1.If your hamster has a need for biting, buy it chew toys like the ones shown at the top of the page. That will very much decrease the biting habit. Also if you have a bared cage, your hamster can chew on the bars and that will also help your pets habit. And also maybe your hamster just hasnt got very used to you. Just do what Im about to say below.

2.If you find that your hamster is always running away from you,Here's how to help. Bring your hamster out of its cage often and hold it.Hold it and talk to it for about 10 minutes every day...If you do that you'll find that your hamster won't be running away from you all the time! (same with biting)

3.If your hamster is drinking water and everything and seems healthy but is not eating its food, go to the pet store and get a sample of a variety of foods for your hamster.See which one your hamster likes best and make that the new daily food. That's when a hamster is picky! Also a big deal that there is, is teeth. A hamster will not eat if it's teeth are over=grown. You MUST make sure you have the right chew toys for a hamster, or else it could starve itelf without you knowing why.

4.Again, if your hamster if eating and drinking, looks healthy and all but not sleeping.. Try getting a hamster home for your pet.I had an igloo for my hamster, and she loved it. Also try getting some hamster fluff and put that in your hamsters cage. It'll love to sleep on soft fluff every night! (Hamster's will build a hill to sleep on just in case you didnt know already) If your hamster is still not sleeping, take it to a vet a.s.a.p.

5.If your hamster chews up everything just do what you would do in a biting situation, Get lots of chew toys and let your hamster chew on them. Also keep all paper and 'human' things away from your hamsters cage. (like wires and cloth and *cough* tape)

Now on to the 'short' lifespan
