Senior Year Courses: Science and Society, Law and Society, Advanced Placement Psychology, Thesis Seminar, Music Appreciation DESCRIPTION: This major is designed for students who anticipate pursuing a college major in the humanities or humanistic aspect of science. To facilitate the choice of a precise area of concentration in college, the major provides a broad spectrum of courses and through its culminating thesis seminar, an opportunity to explore one content area in depth. The major takes and interdisciplinary approach and therefore students take courses within a variety of departments. Courses are adapted to highlight links between the sciences and and the humanities. In the Junior year students study computer applications, research techniques, literature and film, and debate. In the Senior year students take content courses in various science and humanities subjects, including an advanced course in psychology. The major culminates in the last term of the Senior Year with the thesis seminar in which students are expected to produce publishable work of original scholarship. THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ABOVE COURSES IS ALWAYS DEPENDENT ON BOARD OF EDUCATION FUNDING. |
