Campbell-Tintah Busy with Winter Athletics

The Girls Basketball Varsity won its only game last week over Kindred to run their unbeaten season to 9-0. They play three games this week. They played North Sargent at Campbell on Tuesday, Jan. 13, Lidgerwood at Fairmount on Thursday, Jan. 15 and a makeup game at Colfax on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. starting with the JV vs. Richland 44.

The Junior High GBB Team plays at Rosholt on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. That is the last scheduled game of the season.

The Boys Basketball team played two games last week, coming out on the short end in both contests. They played at Kindred last Tuesday and Richland 44 last Thursday. They are scheduled to played at Chokio/Alberta at Alberta Jan. 13. We have a home game versus Sargent Central Friday night, Jan. 16, and a Saturday, Jan. 17 contest versus Fargo South JV at the Fargo Civic Center at noon.

The Boys Junior High basketball team started play last week with a Friday game at Fairmount versus Hankinson. They play Thursday night at Wahpeton versus the Circle of Nations. The game start at 4:30 p.m. The Junior High Boys are coached by Blake Dahlberg.

The Wrestling team wrestles Tuesday night in a triangular meet at Pelican Rapids, Minn., with Pelican Rapids, Breckenridge/C-T, and Perham participating, starting at 5 p.m. They wrestle at the Parkers Prairie Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 17 starting at 10 a.m.

We had an excellent Grade 6-12 Winter Concert on Friday, Jan. 9 with a good crowd. Seven of our band students were selected to participate in the Minnesota Band Director’s Association Honor Band on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Fergus Falls. They are Sophomores Kayla Glasby, Leah Hensch, and Mackenzie Kutzer, Freshmen Dana Hermann and Skylar Wehri, eighth grader Nicole Berand, and seventh grader Sierra Heifort.

Michael Kvidt and Stacie Keller, seniors at C-T, have been named the Campbell-Tintah AAA Award Winners. They will advance to the Region 6 AAA competition. AAA Awards honor students who are excel in athletics, academics, and fine arts. Both are great representatives for our school.

The Campbell-Tintah National Honor Society is sponsoring a United Blood Services Blood Drive on Friday, Jan. 23 from 2-6 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. This is a first for our school. All people 16 years old or older are invited to join in this worthy endeavor. Blood is a renewable commodity needed in our greater community. You do not have to be a Campbell-Tintah resident to give blood at that time. The first semester ends on Friday, Jan. 16 and the second semester begins on Monday, Jan. 19.
