Sports, academics doing well at Campbell-Tintah

The girls varsity basketball won all three of their games last week, defeating North Sargent in a hard fought contest on Tuesday, Milnor on Friday, and Oak Grove on Saturday. At this point, the varsity is still undefeated for the season. The girls basketball team plays two doubleheaders this week. They play at Lisbon Tuesday, Jan. 27 and at Hankinson on Thursday, Jan. 29. The girls junior varsity basketball team plays at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday and the Varsity at 6:15 p.m. On Thursday, the girls junior varsity team plays at 4:30 p.m. and the Varsity at 6 p.m.

The boys basketball team played two games last week. They lost to Oakes on Thursday night in triple overtime in a very exciting, entertaining basketball game at Fairmount. They lost on Saturday to Oak Grove. The boys basketball team plays three games this week. They play at Lisbon in a double header with the girls. The boys junior varsity plays at 4:45 p.m. and the Varsity at 7:30 p.m. On Thursday, the boys play another doubleheader with the girls at Hankinson. The junior varsity boys play at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday the boys play at Central Cass with the junior varsity at 6:15 p.m. and the varsity at 7:45 p.m.

The boys junior high basketball team plays two games this week at Campbell. They played Monday, Jan. 26 vs. St. Mary’s at 4:30 p.m. and will Thursday, Jan. 29 vs. Circle of Nations at 4:30 p.m.

The wrestling team wrestles at Breckenridge in a triangular meet with Staples/Motley and Parkers Prairie Tuesday night. They play at Barnesville Saturday in the Heart 'O Lakes Tournament.

Two weeks ago, Campbell-Tintah School conducted its annual Geography Bee for grades 4-8. Nicole Berand won top honors, defeating Thomas Mobraten and Austin Medenwald.

Last week was Minnesota Paraprofessional Recognition Week. We honor our three paraprofessionals that work in our school. Cheryl Keller, Faye Keller and Tracie Guerraro work with our elementary students and do a fine job. Paraprofessionals are part of a team of adults that care for our students.

The C-T Senior Knowledge Bowl Team competed at Fergus Falls on Friday, Jan. 23, placing 12th overall.

The Campbell-Tintah National Honor Society sponsored a United Blood Services Blood Drive on Friday. More than 40 people signed up to give blood.

The speech team has starting practicing and will have its first meet on Feb. 5. Pat Messerschmidt is the coach again this year.
