Campbell-Tintah’s Junior High Knowledge Bowl team ended its season with a tough match in Pelican Rapids, Minn., on Nov. 16. The top team from Pelican Rapids ran away from the field with a record high 144 points.
Pelican Rapids also took second place, edging out the Breckenridge team 87 to 86.5.
Campbell-Tintah’s “A” squad had a roller coaster day, starting in seventh place and alternating between seventh and second place, ending the day in eighth place with 81 points. Only six points separated second place from eighth place.
The team earned the “Moving On Up” award in the “A” Division for their improvement from seventh to second place by the close of the next-to-last round. The “A” Division consisted of 10 teams from Minnesota schools: Campbell-Tintah, Pelican Rapids, Breckenridge, Rothsay, Hawley and Morris.

C-T’s “A” squad finished fifth in a match on Nov. 2 in Fergus Falls, Minn., behind two Alexandria, Minn., teams and two Osakis teams. The team had high hopes to place well in this last match, but still had a good showing.
The seventh-graders are looking forward to next year, having gained experience in tough competition. The eighth-graders will begin practice soon to join the senior high squad next year as freshmen.
