Campbell Town History

How did Campbell get its name?

In 1871 when St. Paul and Pacific Railroads joined in the area of the future Campbell a town site was formed. This town site was named after a blacksmith, Bell, who built a camp there naming it Camp Bell. Witty. When the railroad set up the town, and made a sign for the depot they accidently ran the words together making the town now called Campbell.
