Ever imagined what the best players in history would have done with the Orang Utan? Ever thought about which
variation Tal would have used? Karpov? Fischer? Ever wondered who would have been the best Orang Utan
player?

Of course, we'll never know for real but we can dream about it and even attempt to simulate a tournament with all
the great chess players!

The First Tournament

That's why I created an automated tournament with ChessMaster 8000. Using the book editor, I created copies of personnalities and assigned each one the same opening book : 1.b4! That way, everyone is out of book by move 1 and each personality relies on it's on settings to play the opening!

The tournament includes the following personalities : Alekhine, Anand, Anderssen, Bird, Blackburne, Bogoljubov, Botvinnik, Capablanca, Euwe, Evans, Fine, Fischer, Flohr, Karpov, Kasparov, Keres, Kortchnoi, Larsen, Lasker, Marshall, Morphy, Nimzovitch, Petrossian, Pillsbury, Polgar, Reshevsky, Reti, Short, Smyslov, Spassky, Tal and Tarrasch.

Time controls were 10 minutes/game. This was a Swiss tournament. All the games of this tournament are available in PGN format here .

After the 12 rounds of the tournament, some surprises emerged!

The Second Tournament

The 7 players who weren't included in the first tournament replaced the worst seven of the first! I also modified the opening book and added positions to be statistically close to real-file stats.

Second tournament now has control of 40 moves/5 minutes. Results will be available as they come in!
