by William Armstrong
He appears in the night like a ghost
When most people should be sleeping
He makes the commandante quite upset
The spirit of justice he is keeping
Who is Zorro?
The common people call him their hero
To those in charge he's a bandit bold
There's a large reward for his capture
Not to mention countless stories told
Who is Zorro?
Several commandantes have come and gone
They are governed by power and greed
But in the end their schemes fall short
Because his warning they fail to heed
Who is Zorro?
He rides the fastest horse around
And none can best him with a blade
There are women who sing his praises
Because their lives he has saved
Who is Zorro?
All the children want to be like him
They admire his courage and his skill
And when they see him in action
I understand it's quite a thrill
Who is Zorro?
He's just one man and yet he's legion
Some would say there's more than one
Every effort and plan to unmask him
Have all failed or have come undone
Who is Zorro?
Many have asked the same question
But there are only a few who know
The less people who know the better
Let them wonder, both friend and foe
Who is Zorro?
Generations have followed his story
And we hope that it will never end
Because when there's a need for justice
We want everyone to ask once again
Who is Zorro?
