"Sachuest Sunset"

Written by Susan Pearce
Inspired by Guy Williams

Lights in the sky
Remind me of you
As this rainbow of colors
Burst out of the blue.

Is this your way of saying
I'm here and I share
This moment of peace
And this thrill in the air?

I feel you here,
I know your presence
By the love that
Fills my heart.

Golden satin lays
Behind the glowing sun
A bright spot of glare,
A contrasting enigma--
I can only look around it,
Too harsh to see
Yet too soft not to look.
Burning bundle of energy
Amid pastels of peace,
Pleasing the senses to behold.

Like your smile
That takes me over,
Captivating, alluring
Drawing me to it--
Irresistible.

Colors indescribable
And too many to count--

Gold so intense and deep,
A yellow path
Floating across the sea
Broken by swells that turn to waves
At the shore,
A gentle swish and gurgle
Complimenting the tone
Of evening's progression
To night's time after day

Lines at all angles
As jets move on their way
To unknown destinations,
Leaving the whitest
Remembrance of
Their trail through the sky.

Like Zorro's sword
Flashing,
That cuts through the air
Conquering injustice,
Vanquishing wrong,

Leaving behind
Evening's peaceful
Memories of
Day's blessed song.

Feathery lavender
Laced with pinks--
Quills of delicate hue.

Like Diego's pen
Drawing out
Notes and verse
In rhyme and tempo

Keeping beat
In constant movement
Of each watery swell
Stretching out
In endless rhythms
Of lyrical vigilance.

My footsteps
Can't help but slow,
A pause in the
Course of my life,
The race becomes
A soul-filled amble
And my journey proceeds
Renewed by this touch.

Heaven has come to earth
An angel brings rebirth.
