Rap artist,"The Buddah Ratt" aka Tirek Robinson of the group 'Buddah~Bazz' has put together his solo project titled 'Ratt Infested.' Buddah was born and raised in Brooklyn,NY. He enjoyed music and was fascinated by this new thing called rap. In the mid- 80's Buddah and his family moved to Florence, SC. He also took rap with him.
Hip-hop would be a determinate for Buddah's way of life. Throughout high school, he surrounded himself with people who felt the same vibe he did. He was part of 'The Boss Crew' a local group, who made their presence known every time they preformed. After he got out of high school, Buddah craved a larger audience, and moved back up north to pursuit a rap career. Buddah's efforts began to pay off. After a while he started getting feedback from his work. Soon after, he recieved notice from a record label known as 'Bricktown Records', an independant label in Newark, NJ. He signed as an artist to what he thought was an upcoming label and released the single "Who is the Top Choice?" produced by Malik and Tribe of Shabazz. Malik developed his own style of rap that complemented Buddah's so well they became Buddah~Bazz. They traveled up and down I-95 performing and doing shows. However, due to poor promoting and lack of funds thier success was minimal. Rather than seeing this as a deterrent, they used it as a catalyst to continue their music quest.
In 1999, he collaborated with long time friends about his future in music. The label "Lucky 12 Records" was formed. This move allowed him a more a more dependable vehicle to display his talents as an artist and producer to the masses. He also began working at WYNN 106.3, a hip hop and R&B station in Florence, SC; doing the friday 106 live and saturday night street party. The station already had high ratings and when he joined the team the numbers got better. The weekend show he works goes on location once a week to the hottest night clubs in the area. The exposure and influence of radio accentuates Buddah's hardcore, yet smooth and abstract sounds. Over the years he has performed with upcoming as well as established names such as The Lost Boyz, Wyclef Jean, Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte, UMC's, The Late Notorious B.I.G, Outkast, Ying-Yang Twins, Hoodrattz, Goodie-Mob, Nas, Mobb Deep, KRS-One, Redman, Grand Puba, Kid Capri, Akinyelle, Heather Hunter, Ludicris, Omar Chandler, A Tribe called Quest, Hot Boyz, Juvenile, Mass Appeal and lil' Jon & tha Eastside Boys. His versatility along with his commanding stage presence, consious lyrics and flowing beats will soon make the world Ratt Infested...
