Ok, First off folks, Ninja Gaiden is fucking hard as hell.
Now that that's out of the way we can get on with the review, Ninja Gaiden is a good game, great graphics, fairly simple gameplay engine, but every game, no matter how perfect the developer may make it, has it's flaws, and this one is no different. In Ninja Gaiden the camera angles are horrendous. If it weren't for the right trigger to place the camera behind you, let's just say i know a lot of people who would not be buying this game.
The story kicks off with the legend of the Dragon Sword and the Dark Dragon Blade. The starts by describing the Dark Dragon Blade and how it was able to suck the souls of dead ninjas to make it more powerful. It also tells about how the Dragon Sword was used by the people of The Dragon Lineage for the good of humankind and how it was passed down to Ryu Hayabusa (You may know him from the Dead Or Alive Series). The game itself starts by having Ryu climb a mountain to a dojo high on the mountain to visit an old master. After a short boss fight, Ayane (You may also know her from the Dead Or Alive Series.) comes to warn the master of the dojo that the Hayabusa Village is being raided. She then sees Ryu and he goes off to save his village. This is just the start of a long storyline involving Ayane, Ryu and various other characters including a very hot Fiend Hunter named Rachel.
The gameplay engine is really easy to use, all it takes is a couple of jumps onto a wall and off of it again to get to a spot that you normally couldn't reach in real life.
All in all, Ninja Gaiden is a really good game. it's got that old school Ninja Gaiden feel to it, the acrobatics as well as the spells or ninpo. This game is a really good buy, if you can get past the camera angles.
