Brown Seeks Truce
Even Big Dog, Russell Simmons couldn't help squash the beef between Hip Hop Hos, Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim. After a last minute attempt to put the G-strings behind them Foxy says Lil' Kim's mob wasn't "responsive" to the call to end the beef. Foxy unsure of how da shiznit got cooking in the first place says the ball is in Kim's court. Brown says, "I want to have a sit-down with Kim. I don't care what it is, let's just end it." Adding, "We can even do a collaboration,"
Let's Roll Da Video
When NYPD began theorizing about the nature of a shooting outside of famed New York radio station Hot 97, Lil' Kim said "It Wasn't Me!" Eyewitnesses originally estimated that Kim's limo had left the scene 15 minutes prior to a gun battle in which at least 5 semi-automatic handguns were involved. Now a security camera from the scene shows that Queen Bee's limo did not depart. It only slowed down to allow her worker bees, who were allegedly involved in the shooting, to hop in AFTER the guns blazed.
CNN Is There
Police believe a long-running dispute between Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim -- with Capone-n-Noreaga on Brown's side -- may have sparked Da shooting. "It's unfortunate that the normally healthy competitive spirit in the music industry has been compromised by people who have nothing to do with the making of the records," Capone-n-Noreaga said in their first public statement about the confrontation. The rappers insist they had nothing to do with the shoot-'em-up, which left one man wounded.
Lil' Reveals Little
Police spoke briefly to Lil' Kim and Capone, but they didn't shed any light on who was there or what happened. Detectives investigating da rap-wars shooting got a break in the case-- when they identified one of the gunman from a security videotape. The gunman was seen hopping into the limo of Lil' Kim. As a result of recent Hip Hop violence, investigators have started putting together dossiers on New York-based rap artists, their entourages and the web of feuds between the groups to aid any future investigations.
Whip Wanted and Found
In da battle of the Hip Hop Bitches, police were looking for the green van used as a secondary getaway vehicle in the shooting. Two men involved in the melee jump into the van on the corner of Hudson and Leroy streets after the shooting. The green getaway van was later found as if it wouldn't be. (Note to all: Do Not Use Custom Painted Whips To Pull Crimes!!) And you don't pull a lil' kimmie and use a limo to pick up the other two or three men who had been with the two who got in the van. Two other men fled the area on foot, according to the witness, who captured most of the post-shooting action on a videotape now in police possession.
More to come...
