"All the players came from far and wide" 'memba that? "Wearin' them afros and braids, in them gangsta rides ..." Outkast, what can be said about them. The Arista/LaFace artists started in the game, like many MCs, talking about cars and chains an' thangs. Now, on "Stankonia" (their fourth album
out the box), these At-Liens are enjoying astronomical success from an album whose creative level is truly out of this world. On Stankonia:"'Stankonia' is like ... Hip-Hop on crack. It's to the left. It's kinda like, there were a lot of unfresh things going on in the Hip-Hop world so we wanted to do something refreshing," said an outrageously dressed Andre 3000. Anyone that has a radio, a TV or computer had to have heard the immensely popular baby mama ode "(Sorry) Ms. Jackson." In light of Andre's break up with soul singer Erykah Badu (with whom he has a child), many speculated that the song was designed to air the couple's grievances to public opinion. Which both Andre and Badu deny. Hmmmmm... About Ms. Jackson:"The song is all truthful, so when she (Badu) heard it, she loved it," said Andre. "Just like on her album 'Mama's Gun,' some of my favorite songs are songs that are true. That's what music is. It's truth. So you can't be mad at that." Currently, Big Boi is home celebrating the birth of his brand new human being. The group also told us that they plan on starting a US tour near the end of this month. We'll keep you posted on that.
