YWAM runs the School Sponsorship program as basic education is very important. It is considered the most important factor in protecting children from exploitive child labor and sexual exploitation.
The School Sponsorship Ministry (SSM) not only provides funding for the education of the children but also guidence.
We highlight the importance and uniqueness of young adults and the children, giving them back their God-given value as people. We are taking time to listen to them, and to value their options on different issues of life. The staff spend time in home visitations and follow up. Most parents were shocked that the staff will take the time to get to know them. The parents are so appreciative of the interest, attention, care and love that the YWAM staff are showing to their children. Our desire is not just to see these young people with an education but that they develop thier spirituality and personality as well. We want them to participate rather than remain passive in impacting their community.
