I first came up with the idea for this site afer visiting Hikari Nanase's webpage, Am I Nothing More Than A Shadow...? This site, while actually a shootoff of her main site (Dreaming of Light...), contains the most thorough psycho-analysis of Hiei's personality that I've ever seen. It inspired me, since I already had some Hiei fanfiction, to create a fanfiction hosting site dedicated to my favorite Jaganshi. I've always been fascinated by psychology, and reading that caused me to take a closer look at him. I think that of all the characters on Yu Yu Hakusho, he's the most deep, intricate, and misunderstood; we know the least about him of all the characters, and he exhibits the most intriguing and contradictory behavior. My mission has been to explore, through fanfiction, Hiei's mind and soul, and to see where my explorations lead me. Though I've since expanded to include first the other YYH characters, and then many other anime fandoms, Hiei remains my first and favorite mystery.
In closing, I think all Hiei fans should view Hikari Nanase's page, and consider what it has to say. If nothing else, it's wonderfully interesting, and may provide inspiriation for other fanfiction writers as it did for me.

Somewhere in the midst of everything, this website was expanded well beyond YYH fanfiction, but its roots remain true. Hiei FTW.
