Future Trunks comes from another universe 14 years in the future. He goes back in time to prepare the Z Warriors for the upcoming battle with Cell and Androids #16,#17, and #18. While he is there he tells Goku that in the future he dies of a heart attack and gives Goku some medicine to save him from death. He also tells only Goku that he is the offspring of Bulma and Vegeta. The reason he only told Goku was so that he doesn't prevent his own death.
