From the Shire to CNN, this hobbit certainly has been There and Back Again.Armed with issues that are close to his hobbit heart, Dennis J. Kucinich was quick to earn the support of his Shire constituency:
These animals and forest peoples are even eager to leave the safety of their comfortable forest homes to show the United States media their faith in Mr. Kucinich--or, Bodo Deepdelver of Brockenborings as he is traditionally known.
And, as clearly witnessed in Bodo's press statements, he has these creatures' interests at heart, and obviously understands the true nature of how our universe works:
- "The energy of the stars becomes us. We become the energy of the stars. Stardust and spirit unite, and we begin: One with the universe. Whole and holy. From one source, endless creative energy, bursting forth, kinetic, elemental. We, the earth, air, water, and fire source of nearly 15 billion years of cosmic spiraling" (remarks to Praxis Peace Institute, June 9, 2002).
- "In our soul's Magnificent, we become conscious of the cosmos within us. We hear the music of peace, we hear the music of cooperation, we hear music of love. In our soul's forgetting, we become unconscious of our cosmic birthright, blighted with disharmony, disunity, torn asunder from the stars in a disaster ..." (New Conexion magazine).
And, if Gandalf hadn't have said it first, Dennis probably would have said this, too:
- "It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule."
