FAMILY NEWS

ERIC
9-6-10 Eric broke his right wrist at work on July 13th. He fell and caught himself with his right hand. He will be off work for several weeks until the doctor gives him permission to go back. He sees the doctor again on 9-8-10.

Sue
9-6-10 Labor Day = day off from work. That was nice, except that it rained most of the day. We cooked out, but ate inside. Eric grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and bratts. We had potato salad, green bean casserole, and ice cream dessert to go with it.

8-30-10 Went to the doctor for poison ivy. This is the second time this summer that I got it. It was all over my neck and started to go onto my face. No more weeding around the house for me!!!

8-10-08 Started my new job at Vredevoogd Heating & Cooling in Grandville, MI as a Customer Service Rep. (CSR). I answer the phones, set appointments, and direct calls to the proper person. I also do the usual office tasks as well.

8-9-08 My last day at Cross Creek Charter Academy in Byron Center, MI. I had worked there for 9 years and loved it. This was the job that never seemed like a job. I had to make the move due to finances. I needed a full-time year-round job. I will always miss my family at Cross Creek (staff, students, and parents).

CALEB

CALEB'S NEW ADDRESS:
(as of July 2010)

Caleb Holt
282 W Bay Ave Apt# 14
Norfolk, VA 23503

7-2-10 So, here is the story... I get home from work (yesterday) and then go off to my ladies Bible Study. When I get home the kids are telling me that Caleb is home. I say, "right!", since he is living in Virginia. Then they say, "he came home today driving a Corvette." Then I say, "Yeah, RIGHT!!!. Well...they were right. Caleb surprised us and flew from VA and bought the Corvette in Comstock Park (on the North side of Grand Rapids) and drove it home. He worked it all out with his friend, who picked him up at the airport. WHAT A SURPRISE. He is here until July 8th. He had found the car online. He kept looking for one in VA, but ended up finding one right here in the Grand Rapids area. I got to drive it tonight after work and showed it off to a few friends. Now Caleb is out with his friends...having fun!!! God is good!!! ~ Sue

12-1-09 What a treat. Caleb will be home again from Dec. 14th - 27th. That will be nice. Hopefully we can get up to Traverse City to visit grandma and other relatives.

9-25-09 As of the end of July, Caleb is working on the base in Norfolk and is not attached to any ship. He now has "Shore Duty" for a couple years. If he stays in the Navy, he will eventually be attached to a ship again and go overseas. But for now, he is stationed in Norfolk, VA and his apartment address is listed above.

6-6-09 Caleb will be coming home for a visit from July 1st to July 22nd. He will have finished his comittment to the USS Whidbey Island and will start his Shore Duty when he gets back. He will be stationed in Norfolk, VA for a while. He has an apartment there and will just continue living there and will work at the base. We are looking forward to his vistit!!!

GRACE
12-1-09 Vic found a job a couple weeks ago. He has even been working overtime. We are sooooo excited for them.

9-25-09 Grace is still working at the Day Care Center and Vic is still laid-off. They are still living with us until Vic can find a job and save up for a place of their own. We don't mind having them here. They do help out around the house and Vic is a lifesaver when it comes to computer problems. Some business would be very fortunate to have him as their "computer guy." He is very good!!!

6-6-09 Vic has been laid-off for quite awhile now and is still looking for a job with computers. He went to school for that and would love to get into that field. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.
Grace is still working at a Day Center in our area and is loving it. She takes after her mom! Not much pay, but loving it!

8-16-08 What a wonderful day! Grace and Vic reaffirmed their vows. Check out the pictures. WEDDING PICTURES

KRISTI
12-1-09 Kristi quit her job and is still figuring out what she wants to do with her life. I hope she figures it out sometime soon. :)

9-25-09 Kristi is working now. She has a paper route, which is a looooong way away from our house. It sure takes a lot of gas!!! It is all rural where the houses are not very close together, so there is a lot of driving. She is still thinking about some type of college, but hasn't pursued it yet.

6-6-09 Kristi finished high school in January. We had her open house on May 2nd and her graduation ceremony was May 20th. She has a part-time job and just bought her first car. She would like to go to college, but hasn't made definite plans to attend yet. She would like to go into the medical field, probably as a medical assistant or a nurse.

2-2-08 Kristi has been doing GREAT in school this year. I think she knows that she needs to do well so that she can graduate and then go to college in order to make it in this world. She actually made the honor roll the first marking period this year for the first time ever . We are so proud. She got pretty good grades this last marking period, but not good enough for the honor roll again. We are proud of her hard work. She is thinking of going into the medical field.

ISAIAH
12-1-09 Dreaded school. If we can just get him through, it will be a wonderful feat. He's a very smart boy, but needs to apply himself more. The story of most teenagers... I know!

9-25-29 Isaiah is starting his Junior year in high school. So far, everything is going well. Government is giving him a little trouble. I think it give a lot of people trouble, unless you like politics. I think he even has a girlfriend. We will see how that goes!

6-6-09 Isaiah just finished his sophomore year of high school. Hopefully he can find a job for the summer. He has put his application in at a pizza place. My baby is growing up!

2-2-08 Isaiah is doing very well in school this year. Only one teacher made a comment that if Isaiah didn't stop being disruptive, he would have to give Isaiah a detention. We grounded him and things seem to be better. We haven't heard anything since. His grades are even pretty good, except for Algebra and Biology.

5-17-07 Isaiah is sporting a new tooth. Oh, the joys of active boys. During a fun game of basketball at the park (just down the street from our house) Isaiah got an elbow in the mouth. It pushed one of his top front teeth in a little. After a couple days of pain and ibuprofen, we visited the dentist. The verdict was a fractured tooth that couldn't be saved. So, the tooth was pulled and a flipper tooth put in. I had never heard that term, but all that means is that Isaiah now has a fake tooth attached to a retainer that fits in the roof of his mouth. When he gets older he can have a tooth implanted for a more permanant solution. But in the meantime, just be prepared for a toothless smile when he's in his "want-to-get-a-reaction" mood.

THANK YOU

Thank you again for all the prayers that have made it possible for us to live normal lives in abnormal circumstances. We have incredible family and friends.

Love, Eric, Susan, Caleb, Grace, Joshua, Kristi, and Isaiah
