African Greys are one of the most popular & well known parrots. They are excellent mimics of everything from voices, whistles, to all kinds of sounds. (microwave buttons, door squeeks, fire alarm beeps, phone rings ect.)Through years of research they have been said to have the emotional developement of a two year old & the learning ability of a five year old. They can learn colors, counting, names of things, and to use words correctly. (Alex the famous Congo grey) They are a very intellegent and sensitive species. They are very devoted to their flock & can be shy around others. If well socialized they can be accepting of others. They growl- when frightened but are not typically screamers.
