Other Miscellaneous Problems With Cingular


Cingular Wireless is home to a host of other problems as well. Customers who are unlucky enough to sign a contract with Cingular are bound to uphold the agreement regardless of circumstance. For instance, if you ever have to move to another area or state that is not in Cingular's coverage area, you will have to pay the $150.00 early termination fee to get out of the contract. Some customers have complained that Cingular also sends their bill either late, or in some cases never at all, and imposes late fees even though the customer never had a chance to make the payment on time.

Cingular also "Simlocks" their phones once you have cancelled your service with them. This means that, regardless of how much money you may have spent on the newest, state-of-the-art cellular phone, once you've decided that you have had enough of the Cingular scam they take your phone away from you by rendering it unusable with any other provider. And if any of these things happen to you and you wish to speak to customer service to work the problem out, make sure you call between the hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday-Friday or 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays (don't bother calling on Sundays) because Cingular doesn't want to spend the money on 24 hour customer support. Just think of all the fun you'll have spending your lunch breaks at work arguing with some rude customer service representative because this is the only time Cingular decides to make themselves available to you.
