I'd say call customer service and try to work out your problems with them, but as a current customer, chances are you have already tried this to no avail. One thing you can do is file a complaint with the FCC. Be sure to have all the details handy because the FCC will need as much information as possible to act. They ask that you include the names of people you have talked to at Cingular and the dates and times of the conversations. Encourage your friends, relatives or anyone else that you know of who has problems with Cingular to do the same. The more complaints the FCC receives, the more likely they are to take action.

Also, be sure to tell others who are currently in the market for a cellular provider about the Cingular scam. Sometimes, spreading the word about a bad company or product can be the best medicine against companies like Cingular, who take advantage of their customers under the assumption that there is little we can do in defense or retribution.
