"The Dog and His Reflection"
Once upon a time a dog was
crossing an old wooden bridge, over a stream, with a large piece of meat
clenched tight between his teeth. As he passed over the steam he glanced
down into the water and much to his surprise,, staring straight back at him was
another dog which happened to have an even larger piece of meat than he
had.
All at once his greed overtook him and he longed to have both
pieces to himself. Immediately he leapt down from the small bridge,
snapped at the other dog and dropped his own piece of meat. Much to his surprise
the other dog, with his meat, disappeared when he landed in the water. It
was at this point which the first dog realized he had mistaken his own
reflection for another dog. It was also at this point when he realized
that not only did he not get the larger piece of meat but lost his own in the
time being.

"Oftentimes you lose the substance when
grasping at shadows."
