Red Hat Linux
(Reviewed by Manny)
Well gawddamn I had an entire long boring essay written on why Linux sucks. I'll just cut straight to the chase:
1: It froze on installation.
2: It used up more resouces than Windows 98.
3: The layout is essentially a copycat design on Windows 98.
4: It failed to auto-detect my DOS modem.
5: The modem configuration utility froze when I tried to configure it myself.
6: Provided MP3 player stuttered while playing an mp3 and froze shortly thereafter.
7: CD tray would not open after I opened it and closed it the first time.
8: It took approx 4 minutes to load Linux, and 3 minutes to shut down... seriously.
9: Computer had to manually be shutoff everytime.
10: Computer geek wannabes use it for the sole purpose of saying, "Hey look! I'm cool I use Linux."
Added commentary by Chris (16 May, 2003):
Linux takes too long to download. The following screen shot is what happened when I tried to download Linux over a T1 connection:
I doubt anything is worth leaving a computer running for 2 days to download.
