I Saw Hanson ! :o)
ok..well on friday we took half the day off to get our stuff ready and
everything for the airport and also camping out..the plan was that we were
"sleeping at melissa's"..or so our parents thought. really we were camping out
in the city =) ok, at like 5pm we left to go to the airport. our friends were
already there and we were like 'yeah, we're coming'. then like 5 mins they ring
back and they're like "HANSON'S FAMILY IS HERE!!!" and we're like "WHAT THE
FUCK?? NO!!" there was diana and the kids and some other ppl and their cousin
josh. my friends walked up to them and josh asked them not to take photos of the
kids, so they didn't. and they watched them get their bags and stuf..they had
like 60 bags or something..there was heaps. by the time we got there they had
gone =( but josh had said that hanson were coming on a later flight. so we
waiting for a couple of hours..lining up at every possible flight that came in
from sydney. they finally came at like 9.30 or something. but the thing
is..since their family had already gotten their luggage through, they didn't
have to come up, they just went down these stairs outside and into their cars.
so that sucked. but we were all standing at the window waiting and as soon as
they stepped off the stairs and we saw them everyone started screaming and the
guys were waving at us. then walker walked up to the window and was filming us.
then ike walked up and waved for a while and zac and tay came up too. then they
went back to the van, but then they walked up to this other van near us and got
in. but see, we were looking at them from upstairs..so we weren't on the same
level or anything. when we actually saw tay's face, like his features and stuff,
that's when me and cherie got real excited cos we're like "that is really taylor
hanson". then I went and sat looking out this other window, just looking at tay
sitting in the car..I couldn't see ike or zac. tay didn't seem very happy, he
seemed tired or annoyed or something...but I don't think it was with us. cos
he'd like smile and wave at us and whatever, cos there wasn't many of us there,
probly like 20 at the most. it was probly just the flight or something. then tay
looked up and smiled and waved at me and this girl so that was really cool.
then we left there..and our friend had already gone after them, following their
van in her car. we took our time leaving, and cherie's mum drove us to melissa's
house. we had to be very quiet so mel's family couldn't hear us..cos we weren't
supposed to really be there =) so then we walked down to the street and called a
cab. while we were waiting our friends called and said "they're at soundcheck
right now" and that's where our friends were, so they could hear it and see it.
so we missed that =( oh well. when he came we caught that to the train station.
we told the driver how we saw hanson and stuff. then at the station we had to
wait a while for the next train which wasn't until like 10.30pm. it was scary
too cos there was only four of us (me, cherie, beth and eirrinn). and the
station was empty. then the train came. then on the train our friends called
again and said that they were kicked out of the gardens (where the concert is
and where we were planning to camp out) so they were planning on going home and
we're like "what the fuck??? what are we supposed to do?" and they wanted us to
go back to their house, like catch another train, but we didn't have any money.
so we ended up getting off in the city and walking to the gardens anyway. that
was so scary cos we were walking thru the city and there's all these drunk ppl
walking around and freaking ppl. it was after 11pm now too. and we're thinking
'if our parents only knew we were here right now...omg I'd be killed'. and
walking thru the gardens was even scarier cos it was empty and dark. we like
huddled close and held hands. we got to the gate where the stage was. there was
mesh over it though so we couldn't see straight inside, but we could peek
through it and we saw all their equipment on stage like tay's keyboards and
zac's drums. there was a security guard there too. we walked and looked at all
the possible gates too. there was absolutely no other fans there. so we left to
go into the city again. we went and hung around hungry jacks for a while. me and
cherie got changed there and we just had something to eat..we were so tired
already. then our other friends from the gold coast rang and said they're on
their way. so we went to look for their hotel, cos we found out that it was the
quay west hotel. just as we reached the street it was on shay (GC friend) rang
and said they were there and we met outside their hotel. we saw their van and
stuff outside and when we went to look thru the doors we saw their back up guys
hanging in the lobby. that was cool. then we all walked to the gardens. we asked
the security guard which garden we have to line up at..which was hard since he
hardly even spoke english..but we finally got it out of him..so we went and set
up at the gate. ok..it was 1am then and the next 3-4 hours were the coldest
friggin hours in my whole life!!!! we tried to get some sleep..I slept on and
off. at about 4-5 ppl started showing up. at about 7 there was stacks of ppl
there..and it was cool cos we were at the very front and everyone was jealous of
us. at about 8 or 9 everyone started standing up and this guy came over and
talked to us, and he said he had a surprise for us..and he was like 'they'll be
playing in 15mins' and we're like "omg!!" but nothing happened at all..he didn't
come back..what a wanker. then at about 9 we could hear the sound check..they
were having another one..and we could hear it all. and they sang all of 'if
only' and everyone sang along..that was cool. then walker came out and took
pictures of us and videoed us. it was so cool. he was like a foot away from me
and he had this massive smile on his face..he's so nice. then the security
guards literally told him to piss off cos he was "stirring us up". what dick
heads. walker gave them this strange look and then left. I don't think they knew
who he was though..they could've gotten in a lot of shit for that really. but as
I said, walker's so nice.
so then we waited for another hour as they set up tables and stuff. and
eventually at about 10.30 they let us in..I was like 2nd in and I had get my bag
checked and put it in the cloak room and then get my ticket ripped and then I
had to bolt to the stage. me and beth ended up getting front row!!!! then cherie
came behind us and eirrinn was a little further back. so that was cool. then we
sat around for ages until the first act came on..some crappy band. we all rushed
to the barrier and me, beth and cherie were in front. everyone was pushing and
shoving and stuff and ppl had to get lifted out of it which sucked cos they'd
drag them over your head. then they were giving everyone water which kept
splashing on everyone camera's. then this other crappy group came on. during
that group I could see averie, and mackie on this balcony above the stage so I
was watching them. then mackie stuck his head over to look at the crowd and
everyone saw him and started screaming. then finally that band finished and we
watched them set up for hanson, testing out the sound and getting the drums and
guitars set up. then ugly phil came out and everyone was screaming. then walker
came out and was videoing everything with that big smile on his face again. then
finally hanson came out and everyone went full on bizerc (sp). they we screaming
omg so loud and pushing so hard. the first song they played was 'runaway run'
and it was so cool. I took heaps of pix but ppl were shoving me so I don't know
how good they were. but we were like 3 metres away from tay. the 2nd song was
'you never know' and the next song was 'if only' and I think of got a pic of tay
playing harmonica..I better have. but then all this ppl were getting lifted out
over me and I couldn't see anything..zac looked at me when I being squished
under some fans..that was a little embarrassing. then I got pused back and I
couldn't see anything so I was like "fuck this" and I just walked back to stand
with my other friends. so I was only in the front row for like 1 and a half
songs which sucked. but it was actually better being back further cos you could
move and dance around and jump and stuff. at the front you're just squashed the
whole time. only bad thing was that i was so close to tay and everything b4. oh
well. i danced and jumped around with my friends and that was so fun. then I
found eirrinn..she had moved back too so I stood with her and we were moshing
and stuff. they played about 8-9 songs..there was: run away run, you never know,
if only, dying to be alive, this time around, wish that I was there, mmmbop, in
the city and then for the encore they played gimme some lovin. it was so good,
they were absolutely brilliant. it was weird though, cos I'd be looking at them
and it wasn't weird..it was like it was just normal to see them standing right
infront of me. they were so awesome though. I had the best time ever. then when
they went off stage I walked around to try and find our friends. we found beth
and cherie and they were both crying =) me and eirrinn didn't cry at all. I
hardly even screamed..only after a song or something..I didn't freak out at
all..I was so proud of myself. even at the airport I didn't scream..I was so
calm, I just smiled heaps. then they were telling us to get out of the park and
cherie's parents wanted to leave (cos they came). I tried to look for my friend
from sydney (carla) but I coudln't see her anywhere. and my mobile was in the
cloak room so I couldn't call her. I was so upset about that I almost
cried..hehe, but I didn't cry over hanson =)
so we left. then we went and stood near the gate and waited for hanson to drive
out. they did and waved and stuff. then we were so tired and exhausted and we
were walking back to the car through the gardens. we were near the gate and we
looked ahead and were like "isn't that walker?" and it was!! walker and diana
were walking around holding hands just looking at the gardens and animals and
stuff. it was so cool. when we walked past beth was like 'hello me and mrs
hanson' and they were like 'hello'. and beth said something else then I said to
them something like "they were so awesome, tell them we all loved it and thanks"
and they were like "ok, thank you" then we were like "bye" and they said "bye".
they were so nice!!! and they had big smiles on their faces when we talked to
them too. man, and everyone had always told us stories about how mean and strict
they are...they're so cool!!! so we actually got to meet and talk to their
parents. and we didn't even plan that!!! we were just walking along and there
they were. it was so cool!!!
and that was about it. they're leaving bris and australia today. I don't know if
we're going to the airport. I want to go into the city and hang around their
hotel to try and meet them. I'll probly ring beth and ask her if she wants to do
that. I want to meet them b4 they go!!!
ok, that's my long story. and what was weird about it is, it wasn't as big a
deal as I thought it would be. like it was the best concert ever, they totally
rocked and i had so much fun, but I was so calm about it and once it was over it
was no big deal. so that was weird. I wish I got to meet them, but oh well.
