'God did not take away life' seems to be a better translation.


For we will surely die and become like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; but He devises means, so that His banished ones are not expelled from Him.

This verse shows God's mercy to save a life.

2 Kings 11:12 **

The original Hebrew verse does not have the word God.

The KJV calls the Holy Spirit, "the Holy Ghost." The Bible says, "God is a Spirit." (John 4:24). Sometimes the KJV translates the same word ' pneuma' 4151 as Ghost and sometimes Spirit. About 70 times they call the Holy Spirit a "Ghost" and about 250 times they translated it as "Spirit."

An example is Acts 5:3,9. In verse 3 we read "Ghost" and in verse 9 we read "Spirit." It is the same word in the Greek.

Reason: 
the inconsistency of translating the word into spirit and ghost has the same pattern in both KJV and the Rheims Catholic Bible. The copying from Rheims, including its mistakes is traceable.

Actually, the word atonement is found only in the Old Testament, but was only put once by mistake in the KJV.

When Christ came , He redeemed and propitiated.
Atonement is an Old Testament matter only. When Christ came, it had become obsolete.

And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

The word "unknown" is not in the oringial Greek text.
It has misled many people to the conclusion that the tongues in 
1 Corinthians are some kind of heavenly babbling. Since the
 translators of the KJV didn not also insert the word "unknown" in Acts 2, this has allowed charismatics to claim that the tongues
of Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians are different, a claim which is fundamental to the tongues movement since clearly the tongues of Acts 2 were real human languages, not babbling (Acts 2:6).

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

 

2 Corinthians 2:17 ***
For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Here is an example of how modern English makes the meaning more understandable.

Paul is trying to make a contrast between
his speech (manners) and knowledge: 
unskilled(untrained) versus trained.
It looks like untrained is the right word.

The KJV says, "The love of money is the root of all evil," (I Timothy 6:10). This statement is certainly false. Adam and Eve did not sin for the love of money. Satan's fall was because of pride, not love of money. The adulterer and the fornicator do not do it for money, neither does the rapist. What God actually said was that money can be a root of all sorts of evil.


For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
