Chapter 11

Summer and I had spent the whole day sorting through our entire wardrobe, trying to decide what we were going to pack. I was sitting in the middle of my room, surrounded by every article of clothing that I owned. "Arg!" I screamed, frustrated. I laid down on my back and stared at the ceiling. Summer must have heard me groan, because when I sat up, she was standing in the doorway.

"You know, my room looks exactly like this. Getting flustrated?" she asked.

I moaned. "What's it look like?" She laughed at me.

"It's time for lunch anyway, let's eat."

I got up off of the floor. "Gladly." I responded, heading towards the kitchen.

"So, we've got sandwich stuff, mini pizzas, and microwave dinners. What do you want?" Summer asked while digging through the fridge.

"Um, mini pizzas, I think." She shook some out of the box and onto an oven tray, sliding it into our ancient oven.

"Chocolate milk? I asked, while pouring some for myself.

"Of course." She said. We were both addicted to the stuff. "So," she said, as we waited for the pizzas to cook. "How are you going to deal with Jord coming, and AJ being there?" she asked.

"Shit!" I exclaimed. "I forgot about that! Christ... well, we decided a long time ago that Jord doesn't like me like that, and AJ obviously does... I guess I'll just see what happens." I took a big gulp of milk, thinking to myself, if Howie shows any interest, I'm going to be screwed as I remembered the shivers I had gotten from him. After all, he was attractive, but I didn't know him. I turned to Summer. "So what are you going to do about Nick?" I asked her.

"I might just..."she was interrupted by the oven timer. "Justa sec." She dodged my question, as she took the pizza out of the oven. When she came back with the tray, we went into the living room and sat on the couch. "What was I saying? I forget..." she grinned.

"You're not getting away that easy! What are you going to do about Nick?" I asked as I took a bite.

"Prolly the same thing that you're doing with AJ, wait and see what happens. He's cute, but we haven't even talked. He probably wouldn't even recognize me..." she said, turning on the t.v.

"Yeah, you say that now. I bet he knows who you are." I glanced at the t.v. "Wait! Go back!" I asked, as she flipped through the channels, past the news.

"The Backstreet Boys, Orlando's famous pop group, are doing a promotional tour in Canada in anticipation for the early release of their fourth album. Starting next week, the boys will stop in 24 Canadian cities in all provinces and territories for a mini version of their upcoming world tour. Each show will be a half hour long, consisting of 3 brand new songs from their new album and 3 songs from Millenium, their most recent release. They will be using Toronto as their home base. See local ticket retailers for dates near you." the news announcer informed before cutting to commercial.

"Wow, that's a lot of shows, cool!" Summer stated.

"Yeah, and to think, we get to go to all of them!" I laughed. "Woah!"

"Speaking of that, it's 1:00 now, and we have 2 hours to pack!" Summer reminded me. We cleaned up from lunch and I returned to my room.

"Ok, I need 3 months of stuff. Ick. For half of that time, we'll be in Canada, the rest, I dunno." I mumbled, talking to myself. "Work clothes,"I said, stacking all of my dark clothes in a pile. "Going out clothes," I said, pulling out my skirts, tank tops, tube tops, and dresses, "and staying in clothes." I finished, picking out my favourite jeans, jogging pants and sweatshirts. "What else?" I mumbled, as I heard a voice in the hall.

"Hello? Anyone here?" they called. I got up to see who it was, and to my surprise, AJ was standing in my family room. "Nice digs." he said.

"Um, thanks! How's you get up? You're early..." I asked, doubting the security in our building.

"There's a suprising amount of people that will let AJ McLean into their building. I got up after buzzing three apartments. I would've buzzed you, but your phone was busy..." He explained. I threw a look towards Summer's room. "Anyway, are you packed?" He asked.

"Shit, not even close. I have no clue what to bring." I spoke as I walked toward my room.

"Can I help?" he asked as I opeded the door. "Woah! What tornado hit here?" he asked as he walked in, picking his way across the floor to an empty spot on the bed.

I laughed. "I was trying to pack. About everything I own is on the floor..." I said, as he started to sift through stuff. He found my red leather pants, picking them up.

"I like your style... bring these, I wanna see you in them..." he raised an eyebrow at me. "Oh, bring this too.." he said, as he started to make yet another pile. I started packing and by the time we were done, I had three bags full. "Anything else you need, you can probably borrow, you look about Mindi's size, and we'll have our wardrobe trailer with us, that's always fun."

"Cool beans!" I said. At that moment, Summer walked in.

"When did you get here?" she asked, seeing AJ. She eyed the bags. "And I thought that I overpacked..." she laughed.

"Nah, you should see all of Howie's stuff..." AJ laughed. "But we must go, the chariot awaits!" he said, as he began to help us haul our bags to the door.
