Cadets win Flanagan Invite,

Trojans grab third place

Facing some tough competition on Saturday at the Chris Flanagan Invitational at home, the Crestwood wrestling team earned its third Flanagan team title in the last four years as the Cadets nipped the Vikings by 2.5 points.

The Cadets also crowned four individual champions including: Johnny Roberts, 119 pounds; Brady Schmauss, 125; Trevor Thomas, 145; Adam Lueschow, 275. Three Cadets also earned second place including: David Reicks, 130; Levi Ledbeter, 135; Kyle Slifka, 215.

Crestwood tallied 199 total points to capture first place. Decorah was a close second with 196.5, and Turkey Valley was third with 183 points. Southland took fourth with 181.5, Riceville was fifth at 145 and Fillmore Central placed sixth at 115.5.

Three Turkey Valley Trojans earned individual titles including: Lee Meirick, 112; Greg Meirick, 160; Jesse Costigan, 189.
