1998-99 saw a new coach arrive for Crestwood. Doug Hatch came to Crestwood after 6 years in Clarksville. Crestwood had Josh Whittinger win his 3rd Conference tittle as well as Josh Grube capture a state Championship at heavyweight, ending a 16 year drought. The team placed fourth in the conference which included a win over Waukon. Waukon used an illegal wrestler who had to forfiet his weight giving the win to Crestwood. Also an upset of the #10 ranked Columbus team as Crestwood came from behind with 4 straight pins to win by 1.
