16 Oct 99 -
Just as mystery girl Eve had pulled another disappearing act, she
reappears -- at Capeside High School. Dawson's shocked when Eve
tells him she's a student - and even more shocked when she makes
it clear that her mission is to rid Dawson of his virginity.
Dawson is stuck cutting together video footage of the Capeside
Minutemen games for the pep rally - but he upstages himself when
he and Eve are caught - by the whole school - making out behind
the video screen. Dawson can barely take the look he gets from
Joey. Finding her on the docks, Dawson shares a touching moment
with Joey, and promises no matter what they call themselves,
they'll always be "Dawson and Joey." He gives her his
necklace.
06 Nov '99 - Dawson finds himself learning first hand about "film noir," on which he is doing a school paper, when he tries to solve the mystery of who Eve really is. Her suspicious reappearance snooping around Jen's house leads Dawson to begin his own investigation - and his search yields nothing but a photograph - which Eve re-emerges in Dawson's room to reclaim. The picture, she admits, is one of her mother, whom she's never met. She reveals that she's been searching the Eastern Seabord for clues to her mother's true identity - and that it's time for her to move on from here. Dawson wishes her luck before she disappears out the window. But while installing a new air conditioner at Grams' house, Dawson notices a picture of the same woman. When he asks who she is, Grams reveals it's her daughter - Jen's mother!
19 Nov '99 - Having convinced Principal Green to let him (along with Jen and Pacey) make a film in place of a paper on "The Crucible," Dawson excitedly plans his project. When Joey arrives at the video store desperate to rent the film version of The Crucible, Dawson invites her along. Though she's hurt that he didn't invite her in the first place, she accepts his invitation, and the four set out to "Witch Island." Dawson and Joey argue about the state of their relationship as Joey points out to him that he has no idea what's going on in her life right now. In spite of the scary phenomena around them, Dawson and Joey are brought a bit closer together as they draw parallels between the lovers Joey reads about, and themselves. After some spooky events turn downright scary, the four manage to escape the island and return home, only to discover some mystery faces in the distance on Dawson's final project footage… Dawson and Joey doubt they'll ever solve the mystery, but in the mean time, he's glad to have Joey back in his life.
30 Nov '99 - As preparations for Thanksgiving get under way, Dawson enjoys the rare pleasure of watching his parents assume normal Thanksgiving family roles cooking and watching the football game. But when he learns Jen's mom is in town for Thanksgiving, he wonders if she has come to tell Jen about Eve's true parentage. No such luck is in store, and Dawson can see Jen's under enough stress with Mom being in town for Thanksgiving, and he doesn't want to add to it. He pulls Jen's mom aside privately and tells her what he knows, but Helen warns him to stay out of this very private family situation. The awkward Thanksgiving dinner only gets worse when Mitch and Gale tell Dawson their divorce is finalized, and he seeks comfort in Joey as they share a moment of genuine friendship. After the adults have gone home, Dawson, Jen, Jack, Andie, Pacey and Joey sit around a fire, and Dawson makes a toast to the friends surrounding him.
05 Feb 2000 - Dawson attempts to give Joey
some lessons driving stick, but it doesn't go too well. Dawson
feels defeated when yet another attempt to shed his
"image" goes awry when the gang attends a party thrown
by the legendary Matt Caufield. Before the party Dawson meets
Jack's ex-girlfriend from Providence, Kate, who's on the rebound
after a recent break-up, and Pacey encourages Dawson to take
advantage of Kate's vulnerable state. When they arrive at the
party, Matt reminds them of the "entrance fee" - Jello
shots. While Joey and Andie back out, Pacey, Dawson, and the
others decide to stay, much to Joey's chagrin. Though she
chastises Dawson for his choice, he stays at the party, and
manages some time alone with Kate, who encourages him to act,
instead of talking about acting. Dawson bemoans his fate, and his
inability to have a good time, but Kate tells him it's as simple
as kissing the girl instead of talking about kissing the girl.
Doubtful, but willing to try, Dawson moves in for a kiss. But
just as he does, Kate turns around to puke as the cops arrive to
break up the party. In the jail cell, everyone is forced together
in one room, and Joey is disappointed to hear what happened
between Dawson and Kate. When Dawson returns home that night,
Mitch doles out the punishment, telling Dawson he'll have to work
at Gale's new restaurant whenever he's needed there. Acting like
a teenager, Mitch says, will get Dawson treated like one.
11 Feb 2000 - Dawson feels a bit left out when Joey is willing to show her work-in-progress painting to Pacey, but not to him…but Joey explains that she wants him to get the full experience at the unveiling. After the horrible experience at the unveiling, Dawson and Pacey try to help Joey, but both are unsuccessful. Dawson suggests Joey repaint the mural, but she refuses. Dawson leaves her the keys to the school to let her decide what she wants to do. He's disappointed the next day when he sees she didn't redo it. When Principal Green threatens Pacey with some harsh punishment, Dawson tells Green the cause of the fight between Matt and Pacey in spite of Pacey's pleas that he keep mum. When Joey is fuming at Dawson for his "arrangement" with Pacey to look out for her, Dawson reminds her of the obvious: Pacey hasn't merely taken care of Joey for Dawson's sake: It's clear he cares about her. In the end he's pleased to see Joey and Pacey working together to whitewash the defaced mural, preparing to repaint it.

16 Oct 99 -
Jen's "leadership" of the Capeside High Minutegirls has
begun, and it seems their admiration of her has led them to
sardonic, apathetic cheers. She briefly meets freshman
quarterback Henry Parker, who is mesmerized by Jen. When she
discovers a box of condoms in Dawson's bag, she wants details on
the lucky lady
Dawson doesn't reveal anything, but he's
grateful when Jen agrees to share some "sex advice" -
though he doesn't really seem to fully catch her meaning
06 nov '99 - Jen and Jack escape the heat wave in their "secret spot," where they know exactly what time the sprinklers turn on. Jen marvels at their closeness, and enjoys for the first time really having a friend who's not a boyfriend. Jack thinks she deserves more than just a gay "best friend." Jen counters that Jack's not exactly swinging in the relationship department, but Jack thinks he's the only gay high school kid around. When she next arrives at their special spot, instead of Jack, she finds Henry, who can barely utter enough words to admit that Jack set the two of them up. An angry Jen tells him next time he wants a date, "don't skip the part where you ask me!" Then she fumes at Jack, feeling as though he's "pimping" her to his friends. She later forgives him, and reminds him she's not the only one who needs a relationship - she tells him how special it will be when he finally finds someone.
19 Nov '99 - More interested in the gift shop than the island itself, Jen explores wiccan literature, spell books and magic potions with Pacey. Overhearing Dawson and Joey's angst-filled arguing, Jen and Pacey are relieved that the two of them never hooked up, but muse on why that might be. They determine they've simply never needed anything from each other. Studying a spell book, Jen has fun putting together a potion to cast a "love spell" on Pacey before the four set out on their mission. When they realize it looks like they're stuck for the night, Joey and Dawson try to get some sleep in the abandoned church tower, but Pacey and Jen are wide awake, discussing the idea that while sex is a basic human need, love just complicates everything. They ponder the possibilities of a "no-strings-attached" sexual relationship. Unbeknownst to Joey and Dawson, the attraction that's been building takes over, and Jen and Pacey share a kiss-but as they do, lightening seems to strike - suddenly they're surrounded by howls, screams, and smoke as the place becomes engulfed in flames as they scramble to escape the island. Later, Pacey and Jen discuss whether or not to pick up where they left off, and agree to try a mutually satisfying sex-only relationship…later.
30 Nov '99 - Jen and Pacey are having a hard time making their "plan" work, as every time they try to make out, Jen starts laughing. They begin to wonder if the plan will work at all, but agree to keep trying. Jen's mother, Helen, arrives in town for Thanksgiving, taking both Jen and Grams by surprise. Jen attempts civility, but it isn't long before old wounds resurface. When Helen abruptly walks off in the middle of dinner, Jen follows her, and Helen admits to Jen that she had a child out of wedlock when she was a teenager, whom she gave up for adoption. Jen criticizes her mother for being a hypocrite in her treatment of Jen and winds up angry and confused. She attempts to drown her sorrows in sex with Pacey, but Pacey gently reminds her that "angry sex" was not part of the deal, and he gives her some words of wisdom to think about. Ultimately, Helen apologizes to Jen, who accepts her apology… and suggests she call her some time. Later, Jen apologizes to Pacey for her behavior and commends him on his "restraint."
05 Feb 2000 - Grams tries to calm Jen, who
insists she isn't nervous about her date with Henry. Their first
date isn't exactly what she had in mind when the date goes from
bad to worse, ending up with Henry keeling over and needing to be
brought to the hospital. Henry explains that he gave too much
blood, to afford enough money to buy a ring for Jen
which is
too small. At home, Jen tells Grams she doesn't think there's
going to be a second date, and Grams shares some words of wisdom.
Jen goes back to the hospital and tells Henry she would like to
continue dating him
but only if he agrees to be himself,
instead of making grand gestures in an effort to be who he thinks
she wants him to be. He agrees, and they share some hospital
Jello together.

16 Oct 99 -
Everyone has been pressuring Joey about how important it is for
her to do well on the PSAT - after all, a National Merit
Scholarship is at stake. She's trying to study hard, but her boss
Rob won't stop making suggestive remarks, finally asking Joey
out. She politely declines, but Rob's ego is wounded. When she
spills a small amount of fuel, he tells her she can no longer
have the night before the PSATs off. Forced to study at the
Marina, she attempts to get some work done, but finds a drunk
Pacey needs her attention. After his fight with Dawson, she gives
him some much-needed perspective, before facing the exam the next
morning.
06 Nov '99 - Joey continues to avoid her boss, Rob's, blatant sexual advances - and is disgusted to learn he has a date with one of her classmates. She's even more disgusted when she learns that date is with Andie. To protect Andie from this creep, Joey follows them on their date, and camps out beside them at the movies. Rob responds by firing Joey on a technicality. Andie feels bad, but not half as bad as Joey feels, having to go home and tell Bessie she's lost her job.
19 Nov '99 - Although she's miffed that Dawson didn't include her in his initial invitee list to "Witch Island," she takes the field trip with Pacey, Jen, and Dawson over a failing grade. But on the trip, she makes it clear to Dawson that he hasn't been paying enough attention to what's going on in her life lately. When Joey finds the diary of Mary Waldeck, a young woman banished to the island for witchcraft in the 1600s, Joey finds some interesting parallels between her love life and Dawson's, and worries about the tragic, inevitable end. Jen reminds Joey not to let someone else's love story dictate her own. But the spooky events on the island distract her from her thoughts as the four scramble to get off the island - and when they're safe, she and Dawson find themselves getting closer to becoming friends again.
30 Nov '99 - Disappointed that their cooking skills are not up to par with their late mother's, Bessie and Joey struggle to prepare their dishes for Thanksgiving at Grams'. When Joey learns that Jen is upset about her mother's presence, she gently reminds Jen that she is lucky to still have a mother at all. Jen apologizes to Joey for forgetting this. Joey comforts Andie, who's having a difficult time dealing with spending Thanksgiving with Pacey, and reassures her that it will get easier. When Dawson tells Joey that his parents have finalized their divorce, the two share a warm moment together.
05 Feb 2000 - Joey doesn't understand why
Dawson would want to go to the party of a lowlife like Matt
Caufield, but she reluctantly tags along. On the way to the
party, Joey chastises Pacey for pushing Dawson into going to this
party and into Kate's arms. They both agree Dawson is
"lost" - but Pacey thinks that means he needs some time
to be a regular teenage guy. Joey is dubious. When the party's
"entrance fee" of a Jello shot is announced, and she
and Andie back out, and Joey is shocked that Dawson continues to
participate. Pacey tells Joey her concern for Dawson
"borders on pathological." Joey and Andie leave, but
their departure doesn't exempt them from being arrested along
with everyone else when the police arrive to break up the party.
In the jail cell, Joey can't hide her disgust that Dawson and
Kate shared a kiss, and Pacey confronts her on her excessive
interest in Dawson's romantic life. The next day, Pacey
apologizes to Joey for what he said the night before, and she
tells him that in truth, she was more concerned for him than she
was for Dawson. He offers to give her some driving lessons.
11 Feb 2000 - Joey is devastated when her mural is unveiled - defaced. Dawson's encouraging words only further agitate Joey, as she reminds Dawson that she doesn't have all the options he does. Joey is angry at Pacey for fighting with Matt about her mural, and even more furious when she learns that Pacey's "friendship" was at Dawson's request. When she confronts Dawson about it, he reminds her that Pacey's actions prove his concern for Joey is genuine. She takes this in. She's touched when Pacey gets some white paint to clear the board for Joey to repaint her mural.

16 Oct 99 -
When Andie hands him a box full of memories of their
relationship, Pacey's heartbroken. It certainly doesn't help
matters when his best friend Dawson accuses him of stealing the
PSAT, and he drowns his sorrows in alcohol, finding himself at
Logan's Marina. After he and Dawson wind up in a fistfight over
the situation, Joey reminds him not to judge Dawson too much -
they're both at fault here. About to take the PSAT, he sees
Dawson walk out, and opts to walk out after him, and their
friendship is restored.
4 Nov '99 - Pacey's brother, aka Deputy Doug, wants to know why Dawson's been snooping around Capeside. Dawson claims he's doing research for a movie, and wants advice on how to locate someone. But when Deputy Doug catches Dawson on the private yacht he's tracked Eve to, Doug is more than a bit suspicious, but Pacey distracts his brother in the usual way - by insinuating that Doug is gay. Doug loses his cool, and the boys are home free.
19 Nov '99 - On Witch Island, Pacey and Jen discuss the pros of sex and the cons of love. When a potentially spell-induced kiss with Jen appears to ignite the fires of hell in the church tower on Witch Island, Pacey and the others make a run for it, and abandon the island. However, Pacey's surprised when Jen later brings up their discussion, and Pacey's delighted that she is still interested in a non-romantic, sex-only endeavor. They shake on it, and agree to try out their plan, but not tonight.
30 Nov '99 - Try as he might, Pacey can't quite become "aroused" when Jen can't stop laughing as they attempt to put their "plan" into action. When Pacey and Andie inadvertently find themselves at the same Thanksgiving feast at the Ryans, they both offer to leave, but Jack insists they both stay. While Joey comforts Andie, Pacey shares with Jack his concern for what Andie is going through… and what he's going through. When Jen approaches Pacey on the heels of an emotional confrontation with her mother, Pacey delicately rejects her advances, reminding her that "angry sex" goes against their credo. Jen later thanks Pacey for his genuine "restraint."

05 Feb 2000 - Joey's impassioned concern for
Dawson annoys Pacey as the group attends Matt Caufield's party.
But the party's over for Pacey when his Deputy brother Doug
breaks up the party, and finds Pacey hanging from a tree. In jail
with the rest of the gang, Pacey tells Joey he's sick of the way
she treats Dawson. But when the rest of the group is released,
Doug tells Pacey that their father thinks Pacey needs to spend
the night. He and Doug share a rare heart to heart when Pacey
admits there's a girl he likes, but that he can't do anything
about it because the consequences would be too far reaching. Doug
encourages him to go for it
because when you actually find
someone you feel that way about, you should hold onto it, and not
let it go. Pacey thinks about Doug's words. The next day he
apologizes to Joey, and is surprised when she tells him she was
really more worried about him. He is touched, and offers Joey
some driving lessons
11 Feb 2000 - Family situations cause Pacey to have to move in with his Deputy brother, Doug, in spite of their differences. When he learns that Matt Caufield was the one who defaced Joey's mural, Pacey picks a fight with the guy, who refuses to apologize for his actions. Principal Green catches the pair mid-fight, and calls them both to his office. When neither will reveal the cause of the fight, Green calls their friends - and Dawson tells Green about the mural situation. When Joey's angry that Pacey fought with Matt, Pacey confesses he's only trying to do what Dawson asked him to do - look out for her. Joey's furious. Though Green exacts a harsh penalty on Matt, he lets Pacey off with "community service," forcing him to participate in the Capeside Mentor Program. In the end, Joey is touched when she finds Pacey whitewashing her defaced mural.

16 Oct 99 -
Frustrated with the (painful) physical results of joining the
team, Jack questions this particular choice he's made - but Jen
convinces him not to quit. But he's got more to deal with,
including the PSAT, and one very persistent quarterback, Henry
Parker, who's got a huge crush on Jen, and waxes poetic to Jack
about it. Jack smiles at Henry but reminds him - he hasn't got a
chance.
4 Nov '99 - He worries about his newfound closeness to Jen, believing she needs more than just a gay best friend, in spite of her satisfaction with the situation. So when Henry begs Jack for advice on how to get a date with Jen, he suggests they "run into" each other at Jen and Jack's special spot. His plan backfires, and Jen's furious with him. They apologize to each other, and Jen reminds Jack that she's not the only one who's "alone." Jack has difficulty talking about his relationship status, but Jen assures him that when it happens for him, it will be very special, and it'll change his life forever.
19 Nov '99 - Not in episode #307.
30 Nov '99 - Even Jack finds himself looking forward to his dad's return for Thanksgiving, but when he can't make it back, he and Andie find themselves at Grams', and he refuses to let Andie and Pacey put their squabble in the middle of Thanksgiving. He insists they both stay, and they do. He and Pacey have a brief heart to heart while Joey talks to Andie, as they talk about how Andie's doing, and what she's going through.
05 Feb 2000 - Jack can't believe it when
Andie invites his old girlfriend Kate, from Providence, to spend
the weekend, since she doesn't know that he is gay. Andie
convinces him it will be fine
but when she arrives, reeling
from a breakup with a boy she later learned was gay, he's not so
sure. He spends an uncomfortable evening avoiding the topic,
until the gang ends up in a jail cell together. Kate says she's
had such a great time that she's completely over her gay
ex-boyfriend. So Jack chooses that moment to tell Kate what she
begins to surmise on her own
he's gay. Kate then asks if
Dawson's gay too since apparently only gay guys will kiss her,
leading to an eye opening chain of events in the all-too-small
for comfort cell.
11 Feb 2000 - Jack is stunned when Andie tells him she was the one who stole the PSAT. He cautions Andie against confessing, as he is worried about her future. But she cannot be dissuaded. He ultimately supports her choice.

16 Oct 99 - In
an attempt at a "final negotiations," Andie returns to
Pacey every gift he's ever given her. Hurt at his lack of
response to that, she busies herself preparing for the PSAT,
focusing completely on her academic future
But when the
PSATs are passed out, Andie begins checking the boxes without
even looking at the questions. Unbeknownst to anyone, Andie's the
one who took the test!
4 Nov '99 - When Joey is critical of Andie's date with Rob, Andie reminds her she's not exactly knowledgeable when it comes to men. But Joey insists when it comes to this guy, she knows whereof she speaks. Andie's annoyed when Joey follows them on their date, but feels bad when Joey's intervention winds up getting her fired.
19 Nov '99 - While the others have escaped to Witch Island, Andie has her hands full at school with her new position as head of the Student Disciplinary Committee. She finds an ally in dethroned head cheerleader Belinda McGovern, who is just as disappointed in the state of affairs at Capeside High as Andie is. But Andie takes things too far with a dictator-like attitude and outrageous citations from a 1950s rule book, angering a stunned Principal Green, who tells Andie they need to have a little "chat."
30 Nov '99 - Andie tries not to be to hurt when her father is stuck in Chicago and unable to make it back for Thanksgiving with herself and Jack. They opt to go to Grams', but when she finds Pacey there, she almost does an about-face, until Jack convinces both parties to stay. Joey tells Andie it's going to get easier, but it hasn't yet. Ultimately, she takes comfort in the group of friends around the fireplace - baggage aside, still a group of friends
05 Feb 2000 - Andie doesn't understand why
Jack is miffed that Andie invited her old friend Kate from
Providence, to come visit for the weekend, even though she's
Jack's old girlfriend. Andie assures him everything will be fine
but
when the pair learn that Kate is distraught over a recent breakup
with a guy who turned out to be gay, Andie wonders if this was
the best idea
When the gang arrives at Matt Caufield's
bash, Andie and Joey back out, but the two girls are arrested
anyway when the police arrive to break up the party. In jail,
Andie urges Jack not to choose that moment to inform Kate of his
sexuality, but he does so anyway, causing even more interesting
drama in the jail cell.
11 Feb 2000During a meeting of the disciplinary committee, Andie suggests a relatively harsh punishment for senior Matt Caufield's cheating on a test, but Green lets him off with a slap on the wrist. Green informs Andie that she is a contender for the National Merit Scholarship, and Andie doesn't know how to react. She admits to Jack that she was the one who stole the PSAT, and announces that she is going to confess to Principal Green in spite of Jack's objections. She resigns from the disciplinary committee, and later tells Green of her actions. He's angry, but he believes Andie deserves a break. He does not expel her, but promises to think of a suitable punishment later on. Andie's relieved to have unburdened herself of this.
