"Human," Chris said, then laughed.
"Really? Moron," Justin said.
"Snappy today, eh?" Lance nodded. "I understand. Sucks getting dumped."
"Especially by someone as 'loose' as Britney Spears!" Joey laughed hysterically and Justin's face flamed red.
JC, usually the serious one, cracked up.
"Is it really that funny?" Justin said irritably.
"If it helps any, I heard they're both available and both cute," Lance, always the sweetheart, offered.
JC and Justin, the only two unattached ones, looked up. "Really?" They chorused.
"I don't know," Lance shrugged. "They are both cute, but I don't know if they're available."
Justin sighed.
"Justin, if anyone can un-attach a girl, it's you," Lance said.
Justin grinned. "You bet I can. And, if I feel the urge, I will."
JC groaned. This wasn't necessarily a good thing. Justin was the type who once the chase was over, so was the relationship, basically. He hoped he would chase the flirty one, JC didn't want anyone to get hurt.
"There they are," Justin jumped off of the speaker he was sitting on to get a better view. Seeing nothing, he climbed up onto the speaker, and JC joined him, standing side-by-side, looking for the girls.
A bright-blonde girl wearing a baby-blue halter dress and matching platforms came rushing off the bus, laughing and covering her ears playfully. "Stop! Stop!" She called playfully. A closer look revealed that her fingernails and toenails were painted a matching baby blue.
JC and Justin looked at each other warily and another blonde emerged from the bus, but her arm was around a guy's waist, his arm around hers, and they were singing. Loudly. And horribly. They were singing a song by 98 Degrees called "I Do (Cherish You)".
Even from a distance, they could tell she was the flirt. JC knew instantly Justin would never know what hit him until it was all over and he was looking back on it.
They grinned when they saw her outfit, though. A football jersey tied in a knot just below her bust and a pair of skin-tight jeans with holes everywhere, a silver belly chain with a crown charm saying "Princess" hung off her waist. And, to everyone's shock, she was barefoot, her toenails painted green with a white streak down the middle to match the color of her jersey.
Justin and JC jumped off the speaker and ran to the girls and guy.
"Hey, I'm JC," JC said to the girl in baby blue.
"I'm Kelsy," She smiled and her entire face lit up, in JC's opinion.
"I'm Justin," Justin said to the guy and girl with the jersey.
"I'm April Jennings, this is Josh Johnson, my dancer, stylist, and personal nuisance," April grinned.
"You know you love me," Josh grinned at her.
They stood in a circle and began talking about anything and everything, when April turned around to get something and they saw the back of her jersey. It read 'Johnson'.
Justin's face contorted. "I thought your last name was Jennings?" He asked casually.
JC heard the panic-stricken undertones in Justin's voice.
"It is," April grinned. "This is Josh's jersey. I kidnapped practically all of his stuff because it's all worn in."
"She did," Josh confirmed. "I went home one day and all my jerseys and baseball shirts were gone. Except like, three that she knows are my favorite. Those disappear at random times and reappear a few days later."
"So, are you guys, like, going out?" Justin asked casually.
JC and Kelsy shared a glance.
"No," April said breezily. "I'm free as a bird."
"A caged bird," Kelsy muttered to JC. "Those two are so in love, but refuse to admit it. Oops. I mean, they're really really good friends."
JC grinned. "Best friends with benefits?" He whispered back.
Josh grinned. "So...How 'bout them Pacers?" He joked.
April smacked his stomach playfully. "Sick little boy."
"I don't get it," JC said.
"No one but those two do," Kelsy shruggged.
JC shrugged, smiled, and said, "Do we get to watch your sound check?"
"Only if we get to see yours," Kelsy grinned at him.
"Of course," Justin grinned. "Lead the way, Ladies." Justin bowed dramatically and the girls, laughing, led the way, Josh running back into the bus, saying he forgot something.
"That's the biggest line of bull I've ever heard out of that boy," Kelsy muttered over her shoulder to JC.
JC realized, with a sinking heart, this was going to be a very long and very difficult tour.
