There was something fascinating about America, not sure if it was the size or the excitement to see such a huge land.I decided to stay but was not so sure where?

My first stop was in "New York" where i flew in. My next stop was not too far away it was "New Jersey"

After a while i decided to take a trip to "Florida" on vacation, yea right, 9 years later i was still by the "Gulf of Mexico"

I found a very good friend a buddy and my partner which i love very much, my wife of now 27 years "Joyce"

In 1989 we decided to look around in other parts of the country,we headed out west towards California but there was something in between which i did not think of "Las Vegas" Needless to say we stayed for 4 years, no not to gamble to work and find new friends.

In 1993 we finally made it to our planned destination "California" First we lived in "Garden Grove" thats by LA next in Fresno then in Sacramento.

1995 we went to "Gallup New Mexico" and from there to "Michigan" till 1996.

By now you must think,boy what a Gypsy right, wrong, we managed motels all over and loved to travel.

We are back in Saint Petersburg Florida, no not to retire, still doing what we both love to do, manage motels.

Well in 1999 i went back to my old job as a Painter, started my own Company, which was a great thing to do at that time.

The building Industry took a dive and so did my Company.

I started working for other Companies as a employee which was great until my wife became sick in 2008. She has soft tissue Cancer, was 7 times operated and lost her left leg. The Dr's could not save it.

With all that i took early retirement in 2009 to take care of her.

To make things more crazy, she has the same Cancer now in her Lungs, which on the left she was operated on and the cancer was removed, now the right one they re not operating on since she also has one on her esophagus. The bad news is the chemo did not shrink the tumor, so she went on to radiation which was fine for a while but developed water in the lung. As of Nov. 2010 they stopped all treatment until the water is removed.

I think i know why i love it here,so many beautiful people and places, but not enough time in this life to see it all.

I am proud to be an American but my little Home town "Salzburg" will always have a special place in my heart.
