Band info.

Bryan "Dexter" Holland is the front man of The Offspring. His instruments are vocals and guitar. He started the band "Manic Subsidal" in 1984 with Greg K. and two other guys who arent in the band anymore. Dex wrote some songs, then they went to a cheap studio and recruited Noodles. Noodles was the only member of the band over 21 so he always went out and bought beer for them even though Ron Welty was only 16. Greg K's house was the site of the band's first gigs. "It's just always a hangout. On any given weekend night up to 20 people could drop by. I had a big upstairs that was pretty much mine, and my Mom was downstairs. But she's always been really cool about it."- Greg K. Weekends were the only time the band could rehearse. They went from playing covers on the weekends, to a deal with Epitaph. After changing their name, they released their self-titled debut album in 1989. Later, they arranged a contract with Epitaph, and they released Ignition in 1992. Two years later, the album Smash and the singles "Come Out and Play" and "Self Esteem" brought them fame instantly. Their fourth album, Ixnay on the Hombre, was released on February 4, 1997 by Columbia who reportedly paid Epitaph over $10,000,000 for the rights to the album. The highest position it has reached in the Australian charts is No.2 and the first single All I Want reached No.15. Columbia paid more than $10, 000, 000 for the rights of the new album. The new album has Dead Kennedys Jello Biafra doing the tracks Disclamer and Intermission. Pretty kool eh?
