Medic Infection 07/27/99
What the infection is:
When a Medic used his Medkit on an enemy, he injects a kind of poison. This infected unit spread it to his teammates by getting within a close distance. The infection slowly eats away at the player’s health. The ONLY way that it can be stopped is if the infected player’s teammate is a Medic and used the Medkit on him. Other than that, it is quite easy to create an epidemic.
Infecting people:
This is a risky tactic. You have to get close to the enemy in order to infect him. The best thing to do is infect a unit that is in his base and probably moves around a lot. When you infect him he will probably go to the Regeneration room to get health packs. He will also be calling out “Medic!!!”. Once you have infected the unit you can either shoot at him or let him spread it around. If the players on the other team are stupid you can get a fair amount of kills.
What to do if Infected:If you are infected you should get to the enemy base and do as much damage as possible. There is no point in staying in your base and spreading the infection. You will only give that Medic more kills. If people on your team start to go into the Regeneration room while infected, or the infection spreads some other way, become a Medic and heal everyone. You can always change back to the unit you like after you die. Oh, one more thing, if you become the Medic and you heal everyone, go reek some havoc on the other team by infecting them.
EMP & Concussion 07/23/99
Why you should prime these:
These grenades don’t explode. They send out a ring, the EMP lime, and the Concussion white. The EMP will likely kill a Soldier and a Demoman. By priming these, the enemy doesn’t have any time to react and get away. By priming the EMP, you can either weaken them or explode them. The Concussion is useful by that you can fly them somewhere away from you. For example, someone has your flag, if you do it right you can Concussion them back to your base and have your team take care of the rest. Also with the Concussion the enemy will be dizzy and it will be hard for them to get a good shot on you.
Go through walls:
The EMP and the Concussion are the only grenades that are able to go through walls. This is a great advantage for the EMP. Example: On 2fort there is a Sniper on the top and a soldier under him; prime the EMP and take them both out. Also if you see something above you, like explosions – sparks – or flashes, throw your EMP in that area and blow someone up that is above it on the top level. The Concussion is that same, except for the factor of a kill. But if they can’t aim, they can’t kill you (hopefully).
Special uses:
Say you see two Soldiers, two Heavy Weapons Guys, and one Demoman coming down the bridge on 2fort. Prime your EMP, jump out there and throw it right at the middle person. BOOM. Hey look, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill. If not, the will be weak enough that you can use your shotgun and do some damage. Okay, same situation, use your Concussion and disorganize them when they get in your base. Hopefully you will have your teammates to back you up. It will be a slaughter in your favor.
Discarding 07/12/99
What discarding is:
The default key is x. When you press this button a pack flies out away from you.
What it does: Why you should discard:
How to make it look nice:
Example:
It throws out any thing that you will not use. Every time you go into the regeneration room and pick up a pack, it gives you every type of ammo. If you are a Scout, you don't need rockets. So you can throw those out.
It is helpful to your teammates. Say a engineer is building a Sentry Gun, you can discard toward him and give him some metal. Also you can give other things you don't use to teammates else where. An added bonus is it may help you survive those pesky EMP grenades. Without any explosives and if you don't get the full strength of the blast, you can survive.
Design Your Own Spray Paint 07/04/99
You want to keep it simple. If you use too much detail then the picture will come out blurry. By making your original design, you can get people to notice it. Text often times will look nice. You will want to make solid lines in the picture. Make sure that it is purely Black & White. It is hard to see gray when you use your spray paint in the game. Make your picture in a drawing program. You can make it any size and shape. When you finish with the design go to the S-Paint section and do what is says. Now you are ready to use it in the game.
This is what I designed for the clan I am in. It is just Black & White. The picture below shows what the spray paint looks like in the game.
