Bye Bi Love

Is Drew Barrymore's bisexuality the reason Tom Green filed for divorce only five months after they married?

While fierce speculations continues about the reason behind their sudden split, shock US reports suggest Tom Green may have been jealous of Drew Barrymore's bisexuality.

According to Star magazine, Tom was aware of Drew's past lesbian dalliances and found himself tormented by his bride's close female friendships. "It was an issue that drove a big wedge in this marriage", a source told the magazine.

According to the same source, 26-year-old Drew promised her husband she would be faithful, but drew the line at dumping her close circle of women friends.
Tom was driven crazy by insecurities about the relationships, even though most of Drew's female friends are also in heterosexual relationships.

"He went crazy with jealousy when she was out on the town with the girls," says the friend. "Whenever they had an argument, Tom would end it with, 'Well, why don't you go and have a good time with your girlfriends?'"

Drew, meanwhile, was not prepared to sacrifice the women who mean so much to her. Having survived a famously screwed-up childhood, Drew values her girlfriends highly and says "My friendships are the only relationships I have ever known." But she has also said that she draws the line at seducing those friends. "I've had friends I've been in love with, but I've never touched. It's actually a fine line," she says. "I don't think you should make love to your friends,  it ruins the relationship."

Among Drew's inner circle are Steven Spielberg's wife, Kate Capshaw- to whom she turned to for motherly support after Tom dropped his divorce bombshell- and her Charlie's Angels co-star and good friend Lucy Liu, with whom she was spotted holding hands while walking a dog near her marital home on December 11, the very day Tom names in the divorce petition as the date of their separation.

Lucy, 34, is well known for suggesting her interest in the subject of bisexuality. After she shared a lingering kiss with her Ally McBeal co-start Calista Flockhart, Lucy confessed to flirting with the idea of dating women. She said, "It's no big deal-everyone is sort of bisexual. It can be pretty sexy. I've thought about it - when relationships don't work out with guys you think, 'God, this woman friend is so wonderful. It would be so much easier.' But, really, it's going to be the same damned problems."
Drew, meanwhile, has bragged about her lesbian tendencies, saying, "I've always been bisexual. I think I was with a woman before I was with a man,"

At 16, Drew romped through lesbian love scenes in Poison Ivy with her co-star Sara Gilbert, and declared, "I took Sara's face in my hands and started licking her lips. Suddenly she opened her mouth and I stuck my tongue in - a full-tongue, major kiss! I can totally see how women fall in love with other women, because it's like exploring yourself. I've wished sometimes I could be a man, so I could take a woman."

Shortly after making the film, she dumped he devastated boyfriend Leland Hayward, and was rumored to be seeing model Lisa Reade. Later that year she was also pictured in a naked breast to breast embrace with nude model Rochelle Hunt for a glossy magazine, and two years later she emerged from and ill-fated and short-lived 1994 marriage to Welsh bar owner Jeremy Thomas and ran off to Hawaii for a holiday with a girlfriend.

"Do I like women? Yeah, I like women," Drew has said. "Do I like them sexually> Yeah, I do. I love a woman's body and think a woman and a woman together are beautiful. It is, for me, like and exploration of your own body through somebody else to whom you're attracted."

While dating actor Luke Wilson (Gwyneth Paltrow's current boyfriend), she declared in 1997: "The new lesbian on the block? It's no news flash. There's something androgynous about my sexuality. But I haven't been with a woman in about two years."

In 1999, however, she was seen to be kissing The Lord of the Rings star Liv Tyler at the Oscars. Liv is straight and has recently become engaged to British rock star Royston Langdon. But at the time friends believed Drew was hoping for a relationship to flourish.

She has also been snapped in suggestive poses with straight actresses including Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Saturday Night Live's Molly Shannon. But when she met Tom Green two years ago, friends say she fell deeply in love and genuinely hoped to make the relationship work. Both Tom and Drew believed they had found the perfect partner - Tom's outrageous on-screen behaviour led Drew to believe he was a soulmate who would accept her wild lifestyle, and he admired her as a free-spirit.

But despite wacky public persona, Tom comes from a conservative, middle-class family, and it seems he became increasingly troubled by her bisexuality. In an effort to put it all behind him, Tom's been living it up. Just five days after announcing he'd filed for divorce, he was spotted in Ottowa, Canada, having dinner with a shapely blonde. During the night, as the couple held hands and Tom bought her a rose, it seemed Drew was the furthest thing from his mind.
