How to Create Sailor Moon Page Graphics
Well, here it is. The stuff I can help you with from start to finish. If you question my talent, ask me for some sample graphics I made.
Lesson 1: What's the Use of having My Own Graphics?
We all know graphics make a good page better. But your own graphics keep a page unique. If you all ways use someone else's work, anyone who has seen it before is going to find the page's image quality dull.
Another problem is if you steal things from other page's without any permission or against someone's wishes. This creatas trouble if you have someone who has seen this graphic before reports you to the author. It can be a problem if you are linking the graphic. All they need to do to prevent it from being used is modify the URL. Then you are sunk.
So, if you don't like making graphics, you may get in trouble if you don't. Most people who don't, have kinda dull pages, or just a page with stolen work. Not cool.
Lesson 2: Get the pics
Okay, let's face it. Most buttons or banners or gifs and what have you, started out with an original image, wich was copied, then cut, or fiddeled with and had text added. I'm here to show you were to go, if you want to do that.
A few recomended sites for graphics are:
The Chibi Moon Multimedia Site!
But enough of that. When I have a Links page established, go there and check out lots of other sites.
Lesson 3: What do I make Graphics With?
Okay, here is the big question. I can safley say, that most home computers have a simple paint program. That's a start, but if won't let you convert your pics to JPEG's or GIF's.
Anyway the programs I recomend are the following: Adobe PhotoShop 3.0
Adobe Photoshop Deluxe
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Amimated Gif Consturction Set
Make sure you have something good if not one of these things. Anyhow, the Adobe Photoshop is good because of the many features. You can find out more about it, at www.adobe.com if you want.
Lesson 4: Buttons
Buttons are by far some of the easiest things to make. First, select a paint program with text and type this text out in it weather or not it's the graphics program you plan to use.
When your finish with the text, make the button. Now first, study the size of text you want, and make sure the button will hold it. It's easier that way.
To make a button's basic "image" take that image and copy a small area of that image and paste it onto the graphics editor. Then take that image and put the text on it. It can be tricky but this isn't all that hard if you pick an image that is easier to modify.
Banners
Banners are a bit tricky. Here are th techniques.
First, you need the image. The averadge banner is about 300x400 pixels. This is because most banner link exchange programs don't except anything else. It's unfortunate, but true.
A good banner has either a dark bakround or a light one, but the problem with selecting one, is that anime pictures are genrally to bright! So, choose carefully. This is a genral rule.
Lesson 5: Coming Soon
Prism Star says: "Go back to the index! It's at: index.html!"
